💙 Volunteers’ Week 💙

Today we’re sharing a video celebrating just some of the incredible people who have volunteered their time to support Brody’s Trust.

Whether they’ve helped at events, painted walls, moved furniture, served teas and coffees, cut grass, organised fundraisers, shared their skills, or simply turned up when we needed an extra pair of hands, every single one of them has helped us get to where we are today.

To all of our volunteers, past and present, thank you. Your kindness, support and belief in what we’re trying to achieve means more than you’ll ever know. We honestly thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 💙

Today marks 7 years since we kissed our beautiful boy goodbye.
Seven years.
Seven years of wondering what you would look like now.
Seven years of imagining the young man you would have become.
Seven years of wishing we could hear your laugh just one more time.
People often see Brody's Trust, the events, the fundraising, the hub, the sensory room, and all the things we are building for families.
What they don't always see is the little boy behind it all.
A little boy who should have been here to celebrate birthdays, make memories,
Instead, we carry him with us in a different way.
When Brody left us, our world fell apart. We had two choices: let our grief consume us or try to create something meaningful from the pain.
So we chose to build.
Not because we stopped hurting.
Not because we moved on.
But because we couldn't bear the thought that Brody's story would end there.
Every family we support.
Every child who walks through our doors.
Every smile we see.
Every hug we receive.
That's Brody.
His legacy lives on in every corner of what we do.
There are days when the grief still hits as hard as it did seven years ago. Because no amount of time changes the fact that we miss him. No amount of fundraising, projects, or busy days can fill the space he left behind.
We would give every brick, every room, every achievement back in a heartbeat if it meant having our boy home again.
But since we can't, we will keep going.
We will keep saying his name.
We will keep telling his story.
We will keep building something beautiful in his memory.
Because none of this would exist without him.
Forever loved.
Forever missed.
Forever our beautiful Brody. 💙

💙 Introducing Our New Accessible Wet Room at Brody's Trust 💙

Designed to support children and young people with complex needs, the facility includes:

- Accessible Wash & Dry Toilet
- Electronic Full-Room H-Ceiling Hoist System
- Height-Adjustable Mobile Shower Bed
- Adjustable Underfloor Heating
- Fully Accessible Environment

We know that many families face significant challenges while waiting for essential home adaptations to be completed, or when Occupational Therapists determine that existing bathroom facilities are no longer safe to use. Access to appropriate washing and personal care facilities is not a luxury. It is a necessity.

That is why we have made the decision to open this area early.

We are pleased to announce that our new fully accessible wet room is now open and available for families to use.

Our new wet room will provide a safe, welcoming space for families who need immediate access to suitable personal care facilities while longer-term solutions are being put in place at home.

We understand the urgent need for dignified, accessible care, and we're committed to continuing to support families when they need it most.

Thanks to funding from Gloucestershire County Council, Brody’s Trust is able to offer 2 free sensory room sessions per month for families who need additional support. Please complete this form to apply for funded sessions. Spaces are limited and will be allocated based on need.

The donations have continued to come in… and the boys have now raised an incredible £9,278 for Brody’s Trust 💙🙌
Honestly, we cannot put into words just how proud we are of Paul & Mike.
They took time away from their busy lives, funded this whole journey themselves, and pushed their bodies and minds to the limit — all to raise money for the Trust and the families we support.
The miles they covered, the weather they battled, the exhaustion, the hills, the setbacks… yet they still somehow managed to keep smiling, laughing, and bringing everyone along on the journey with them 😂💙
What they achieved was far more than just completing a bike ride.
They brought people together.
They made people laugh.
They inspired people.
And they showed exactly what determination, friendship, and kindness can do.
The money they have raised will make such a difference to Brody’s Trust, and we will forever be grateful for what they have done.
So from the bottom of our hearts… thank you boys 💙🚴‍♂️
You should both be incredibly proud of yourselves.

A huge shout out and thank you to Glevum Windows 💙
On Wednesday, the amazing team from Glevum Windows came out to replace the blown windows at Brody’s Sensory Hub, and we honestly cannot thank them enough for their kindness, generosity, and continued support.
The team were absolutely fantastic from start to finish, professional, friendly, hardworking, and genuinely supportive of what we are trying to achieve here at Brody’s Trust.
As a charity, support like this means the world to us. Every donation, act of kindness, and helping hand brings us one step closer to creating a safe and welcoming space for children with additional needs and their families.
Thank you again to everyone at Glevum Windows for supporting our vision and being part of the journey with us. Your generosity and community spirit truly make a difference 💖

So this weekend we made a start on the repointing during the beautiful weather we had ☀️

The stonework on the building had previously been pointed with concrete rather than lime mortar, which unfortunately has trapped moisture and allowed water into the building, adding to the damp issues we’ve been battling.

We’re now carefully removing the old pointing and re-pointing properly with lime mortar to help protect and preserve the building for the future. It’s hard work, but it’s great to finally get started and see the difference already being made 💪

We’ll be continuing the work at the Hub on Saturday, so if anyone fancies lending a hand for a few hours, we’d really appreciate the support. No experience needed just a willingness to help 😊

🏆 Huge congratulations to Nikki Baggott on winning the Trustee of the Year Award 💖
This award recognises the incredible passion, dedication, and strength Nikki has shown in creating Brody’s Trust from the ground up.
After the heartbreaking loss of her son, Brody, Nikki made it her mission to ensure no other families feel alone, unsupported, or left in the dark when navigating life with additional needs. Wanting to create a safe, welcoming space where children can play, learn, and thrive, and where families can feel understood and supported, became the driving force behind everything she does.
Nikki has worked tirelessly to turn that vision into reality. From securing the building in Lydbrook, coordinating refurbishments, managing contractors, organising fundraising events, building partnerships, and supporting families directly, she has poured her whole heart into this project every single day.
This isn’t just a building. It’s a legacy built from love, determination, and the desire to make a real difference for families across Gloucestershire.
Everyone involved with Brody’s Trust is incredibly proud of Nikki and everything she has achieved. This award is so well deserved, and the impact she continues to make in the community is truly inspiring 💙
