I don’t often post about me… but today I want to let you see a little piece of the person behind Find Your Balance. 🤍

Sometimes people ask me:

“Why should I have Reiki?”
“What will a sound bath do?”
“What will I feel?”
“How does it actually work?”

And honestly… I can’t always answer those questions.

Because I don’t know exactly what you need.

I don’t know what you’ve been carrying.
I don’t know what you’ve buried.
I don’t know what your body, mind or energy is holding onto.

But I do know what energy work has done for me.

And that is why I believe in it so deeply.

My journey into energy work began after I lost my amazing younger brother who brought light into any room he entered.

My whole world was turned upside down.

I remember feeling like I was a body with no soul. Just going through the motions. Getting up. Getting dressed when I needed. Looking after the children. Smiling when I needed to smile.

Because I had to be strong.

I had a family who needed me.
I had young children who still needed their mum.
We had a funeral to plan.

But underneath that strength, I was falling apart.

I had already experienced antidepressants and psychology after losing a baby many years before, and I knew they weren’t the path I wanted to take.
It hadn’t worked for me.
In fact, I felt like the hate for the world became stronger and the walls around me became higher.

That isn’t me saying medication is wrong. It isn’t. For some people, it is life-changing and absolutely necessary.

But for me, I knew I needed to understand what was happening beneath the surface, I didn’t want to mask the problem and spend my life taking medication and muddle through.

So I turned towards holistic healing - no one around me got it, they actually thought I was a bit loopy however after losing so one so close and crumbling before them But after losing someone so close to me and watching me crumble, they went with it.

They didn’t understand it.
It wasn’t their beliefs.
But they didn’t question it.
And that was enough.

But slowly… something started to shift.

Not overnight.

Not magically.

Not in a straight line.

Slowly.

Reiki.
Meditation.
Sound.
Energy work.
Time spent actually sitting with myself instead of constantly trying to outrun how I felt.

And then something happened that I hadn’t expected.

The healing got deeper.

And sometimes… darker.

Because I started uncovering things I thought I had dealt with years ago.

Trauma from childhood.
School bullying.
Abusive relationships.
Loss.
Miscarriages.
Losing my best friend, my gorgeous rottie who was beside me through everything no matter what.
Fear.
Guilt.
Anger.
Grief.

Things I had convinced myself I had “moved on” from.

But I hadn’t.

I had just buried them.

I had spent years building walls around myself because those walls were keeping me safe.

I didn’t trust people.

I hated the world.

I expected bad things to happen.

I saw the darkness before I saw the good.

I struggled to step outside my comfort zone. Meeting new people terrified me. Speaking in groups terrified me. Doing things alone terrified me.

And I thought that was just who I was.

But energy work started showing me that maybe it wasn’t who I was.

It was who I had become to survive.

And that realisation changed everything.

Reiki, sound baths and meditation haven’t magically erased my pain.

They haven’t taken away my grief.

They haven’t made life perfect.

What they have given me is a space to slow down enough to actually listen to myself.

To feel.

To release.

To understand.

To face things I had spent years avoiding.

And honestly?

It has been bloody hard.

There have been days I’ve wanted to walk away.

Days when feeling everything felt worse than feeling nothing.

But I kept going.

And little by little, I started finding me underneath all of it.

The anger softened.

The fear became quieter.

The walls started coming down.

My mind learned how to switch off.

I learned how to breathe again.

I learned to appreciate the tiny things.

I learned that vulnerability isn’t weakness.

And perhaps most importantly…

I learned that I don’t have to protect myself so fiercely that nobody can get close enough to love me.

I can stand in front of a room full of people and speak.

I can walk into a group where I know absolutely nobody and feel comfortable.

I can meet people.

I can try new things.

I can actually enjoy life.

And I can face things that the old version of me would never have believed she could.

Because there is something else I’ve realised through all of this…

Energy work has changed the way I respond to life itself.

Earlier this year, I was told that I have three brain tumours.

And I honestly think the person I was years ago would have completely spiralled.

I would have gone straight to the worst possible outcome.

Fear would have taken over.

I would have searched for every possible negative scenario and built walls around myself all over again.

But that isn’t where I am now.

Of course I’ve been scared.

Of course there have been difficult days.

I’m human.

But alongside that fear, there has been an acceptance that I don’t think I would have had before.

I’ve been able to take a breath.

To take things one step at a time.

To trust that I will get through whatever comes next.

To remind myself that I am going to be okay.

And perhaps most importantly, to believe that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be right now.

Not because I think everything happens for a reason.

Not because I believe I’m somehow immune to difficult things.

But because I’ve learnt that I don’t have to know exactly how everything is going to unfold in order to be okay in this moment.

That, for me, is a huge part of healing.

Being able to sit with uncertainty without allowing it to completely consume me.

Being able to feel fear without becoming fear.

Being able to find gratitude even when life feels incredibly hard.

And yes, I still carry pain.

I still miss my brother more than words could ever explain.

There are days when grief hits me like a wave and I would give anything to have him physically here.

But I’m able to move through those moments differently now.

I can feel the grief without letting it consume me.

I can come back to gratitude.

I can hold the love alongside the loss.

And I believe that is what healing has really been for me.

Not becoming someone who has never been hurt.

Becoming someone who knows how to hold the hurt.

That is why the spiritual side of what I do means so much to me too.

I believe we are more than just our physical bodies.

I believe there are things we feel that we can’t always explain logically.

I believe intuition matters.

I believe energy matters.

And while I will never tell you that Reiki or a sound bath is going to “fix” you, I will tell you that I have personally experienced what can happen when you finally give yourself permission to stop, breathe and turn inward.

Sometimes the biggest changes don’t happen because someone gives us an answer.

They happen because, for the first time, we become quiet enough to hear our own.

So if you’re reading this and you’re feeling stuck…

If you’re carrying something you haven’t been able to put down…

If you’ve tried things that haven’t worked…

Please don’t give up on yourself.

You don’t have to have everything figured out.

You don’t have to be positive all the time.

You don’t have to pretend you’re okay.

And you don’t have to wait until life breaks you open before you start looking at what’s underneath.

You can start now.

Gently.

One breath.

One conversation.

One moment of stillness.

One step at a time.

At your own pace.

Because there is so much more to you than the things you’ve survived.

And maybe the person you’re desperately trying to find…

has been there underneath it all along. 🤍

This is why I do what I do.

Not because I have all the answers.

But because I know what it feels like to need somewhere safe to begin.

🌿✨ So, what actually is a Sound Bath?

You might have heard the words sound bath and wondered what it actually means.

And no you don’t need to be spiritual, religious, or have any particular beliefs to experience or benefit from one. 🤍

A sound bath is simply a deeply relaxing, guided experience where you lie or sit comfortably while being immersed in sounds and vibrations created by instruments such as crystal singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks and other gentle instruments.

Think of it as giving your mind and body permission to pause.

🧠 But what does the science say?

Sound is vibration, and our brains and nervous systems respond to sound in very real ways.

During a sound bath, slow, repetitive and soothing sounds can help encourage the body to move away from a heightened “fight or flight” sympathetic nervous system state and towards the calmer parasympathetic “rest and digest” state.

Research into sound-based relaxation and meditation has found potential benefits including:

✨ Reduced feelings of stress and anxiety
✨ Lower perceived tension
✨ Slower breathing and heart rate
✨ Improved relaxation
✨ Better mood
✨ Supporting mindfulness and mental stillness
✨ Helping some people settle into sleep more easily

There is also interesting research around brainwave activity. When we become deeply relaxed, our brain activity can shift towards slower patterns associated with relaxed and meditative states, such as alpha and theta activity.

And then there is vibration.

When you’re lying close to singing bowls, you’re not only hearing the sound you can often physically feel the subtle vibrations through your body. This can provide another sensory focus, helping to draw attention away from the constant stream of thoughts.

Of course, a sound bath isn’t a medical treatment and it isn’t a cure for illness. Research is still developing, and claims that specific frequencies can heal specific diseases aren’t supported by strong scientific evidence.

But we do know that relaxation, slowing the breath, mindfulness and reducing stress can have genuine effects on our wellbeing.

🌙 So you don’t have to believe in anything.

You don’t have to be spiritual.

You don’t have to meditate regularly.

You don’t even have to be “good at relaxing.”

You simply come along, get comfortable, close your eyes if you’d like to, and allow yourself an hour where you don’t have to achieve, fix, organise or do anything for anyone else.

Just listen, breathe and be. 🤍

Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can give our nervous system is simply a little time to slow down.

🌿 Sound isn’t magic.
It’s vibration, sensory experience, relaxation and connection and your body knows how to respond to it. ✨

🌿 What if you didn’t need another thing on your to-do list… but simply an hour where you could do absolutely nothing? 🌿W...

🌿 What if you didn’t need another thing on your to-do list… but simply an hour where you could do absolutely nothing? 🌿

When was the last time you truly stopped?

Not scrolling.
Not answering messages.
Not thinking about what needs doing tomorrow.
Not being Mum, partner, friend, daughter, business owner…
Just you. 🤍

Imagine stepping away from the noise of everyday life and into nature…

The fresh air around you.
The trees gently moving above you.
The earth beneath you.
The sounds of nature blending with the soothing vibrations of crystal singing bowls and chimes.

You lie back, close your eyes and simply breathe.

There is nothing you need to achieve.
Nothing you need to fix.
Nothing you need to figure out.

Just an opportunity to let your body soften, your mind become quieter and your nervous system finally exhale.

✨ This isn’t about being “good” at meditation.
✨ You don’t need to be spiritual.
✨ You don’t need to know what you’re doing.

You simply need to arrive exactly as you are.

And perhaps, somewhere between the sounds, the stillness and the trees, you might remember what it feels like to truly feel present again.

🌿 Come and disconnect from the outside world, so you can reconnect with yourself.

Bring a blanket, something comfortable to lie on, wrap up warm and let nature hold you while the sound does the rest. 🤍

If your mind has been busy…
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed…
If you’re constantly doing for everyone else…
If you simply feel like you need to pause…

Maybe this is your sign. ✨

🌿 What if you don’t need to be forced to grow… but simply need to remove what’s holding you back? 🌿

We’re often told that growth means becoming more.

More resilient.
More confident.
More successful.
More healed.
More of the person we think we should be.

But perhaps growth isn’t always about adding something new to ourselves.

Perhaps sometimes, it’s about letting go.

Letting go of the beliefs that tell you you’re not enough.
Letting go of the expectations you’ve carried for years.
Letting go of relationships, patterns and environments that leave you feeling depleted.
Letting go of the need to have everything figured out.
Letting go of the version of yourself you created simply to survive.

🌙 Maybe you don’t need to push harder.

Maybe you need to create space.

Space to breathe.
Space to feel.
Space to reconnect with yourself.
Space to hear the quiet voice within you beneath all the noise.

Like a tree doesn’t have to force its branches to grow, perhaps we too have a natural rhythm of becoming.

When we release what weighs us down, we create room for what has been waiting underneath to emerge.

Sometimes the most profound transformation doesn’t come from asking:

“Who do I need to become?”

But instead:

“What am I ready to release?”

And perhaps that is where true healing begins. 🤍

You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You do not need to constantly improve yourself to be worthy.

Maybe there is already so much of you there…

You simply need to gently clear away what was never truly yours. 🌿✨

And this is at the heart of the holistic wellbeing work I offer through Find Your Balance.

Sometimes we need a safe space to pause.
Sometimes we need to quiet the mind.
Sometimes we need to release emotions, patterns or energy we’ve been carrying.
And sometimes we simply need permission to rest and reconnect with ourselves.

✨ Reiki ~ creating space for deep relaxation, energetic balance and reconnection.

✨ Chain Release Reiki ~ a gentle, intentional practice focused on releasing emotional or energetic attachments and what you may feel ready to let go of.

✨ Guided Meditation ~ quietening the mind and turning your attention inward, creating space for reflection, awareness and inner connection.

✨ Sound Bath Meditations ~ allowing the vibrations of sound to surround you, helping you step away from the noise of everyday life and into a deeper state of rest.

None of these are about forcing you to change.

They’re about creating the space for you to listen, soften, release and reconnect with what is already within you.

Because maybe you don’t need to become someone new.

Maybe you simply need to come home to yourself. 🤍🌙

✨ Gratitude from the bottom of my heart ✨

What a beautiful evening. 🤍

One of our fullest sessions yet, and somehow, despite every single person arriving with their own story, their own journey and their own path to navigate, the energy within the space was absolutely beautiful.

As we journeyed through the lake and each found our own clearing, there was something so powerful about being guided into our own inner landscape… each of us meeting, acknowledging and perhaps beginning to understand our own darkness, whilst knowing we were never truly alone.

It always amazes me just how incredible these sessions can be.

How every person brings their own energy into the space, and yet somehow those energies weave together so naturally. There is a beautiful unspoken connection that happens a sense of being held, witnessed and supported, without judgement and without expectation. ✨

Tonight was a reminder that we can each be walking completely different paths, carrying completely different things, and still come together in a space that feels safe, peaceful and connected.

Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart, to every single person who joined me this evening. 🤍

Thank you for trusting me to guide you.

Thank you for allowing yourselves to be vulnerable.

Thank you for showing up for yourselves.

And thank you for contributing your beautiful energy to the space.

I never take for granted the trust you place in me, and I feel incredibly grateful that I get to create these moments with you.

May you carry a little of tonight’s stillness, softness and light with you into the days ahead.

And remember…

Even when we walk through our own darkness, we don’t have to walk through it alone. 🌙✨

With so much love and gratitude,

Katie 🤍

🤍✨ A little gratitude from me… ✨🤍

I’ve been wanting to write this for a little while, because I genuinely don’t think I’ve said thank you enough.

To each and every one of my clients thank you for your patience, your kindness, your understanding and your continued support while I’ve moved my work space into my home. 🤍

It honestly wasn’t an easy decision, but it was a necessary one for me to be able to continue doing the work I love while I navigate everything that has come with the tumours

I’ll be honest… I worried so much about bringing my work into my home.

I worried about the unfinished room, the worn corners and the fact that my home is very much lived in three children, even more family pets and all the beautiful chaos that comes with family life. 🐾🤍

But perhaps there’s something quite beautiful about that too.

Because my work has never really been about having a perfect space.

It’s about creating somewhere you can exhale.
Somewhere you can feel safe.
Somewhere you can slow down, switch off and reconnect with yourself.
Somewhere you can simply be.

And I’m beginning to realise that perhaps a space doesn’t need to be perfect to hold beautiful energy. ✨

I’ve always been someone who would rather spend my time and money on holidays, adventures, exploring and making memories than constantly pouring it into making my home look perfect.

And these last few months have reminded me more than ever that we never truly know what’s around the corner, or how much time we have.

So yes… I think I’ll continue choosing the holidays. 🌍✨
The adventures.
The experiences.
The laughter.
The memories.
The time with the people I love.

Because that is life to me. 🤍

And then there’s you.

The people who have continued to trust me with your treatments.
The people who have turned up with absolutely no judgement.
The people who have embraced this change and allowed me to welcome you into my home.

That might sound like a small thing to some, but it really isn’t to me.

My home has always been my safe space somewhere I can retreat to, close the door and shut the world out when I need to.

So opening that space up to you has felt like a really big step.

And the fact that you’ve met me there with kindness, warmth and acceptance has meant more than you probably realise. 🤍

I hope that even though the space is now part of my home, you still feel that same sense of calm when you walk through the door.

That you can leave the outside world behind for a little while.

That you can breathe a little deeper.

That you can feel held, grounded and cared for.

I’ll keep making little changes along the way to make the space even more welcoming, peaceful and comfortable for you but I’m also learning to embrace the imperfect, the unfinished and the real.

Because maybe wellness isn’t about creating a perfect environment.

Maybe it’s about creating a space where you can be exactly as you are. 🌿✨

So from the bottom of my heart…

Thank you for being here.
Thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for supporting my little business.
And thank you for supporting me. 🥹🤍

I’m so incredibly grateful for every one of you.

Katie xx 🤍✨

🍂✨ Sunday 20th September ~ Tintern Village Hall

Energetic Clearing • Grounding • Reflection 🤎

Just days before the Autumn Equinox, we find ourselves at a beautiful point of transition a gentle bridge between light and dark, summer and autumn, outward activity and inward reflection. 🌗🍂

This evening is an invitation to slow down, take a breath and come back to yourself.

Life can be busy. Our minds can be full. And sometimes we carry far more than we realise emotions, thoughts, expectations and energy that simply isn’t ours to keep holding.

✨ A chance to clear and release what feels heavy.
🌿 To ground and reconnect with your body.
🌙 To quieten the mind and create space within.
🤎 To pause and reflect on where you are, without judgement.

As nature begins its own process of letting go, we too can gently consider what we’re ready to leave behind and what we want to carry forward into the new season.

Allow the healing vibrations of the crystal bowls, chimes and guided meditation to surround you, creating a peaceful space to rest, reset and reconnect.

You don’t need to do anything.
You don’t need to fix anything.

Simply come as you are and allow yourself to be held by the sound. ✨

🍂✨ Tuesday 22nd September ~ Sling Community Hub

Autumn Equinox • Harvest, Gratitude & Release 🤎

Our final September sound bath arrives at one of the most beautiful turning points of the year the Autumn Equinox, when light and darkness meet in balance. 🌗

As the world around us begins to change, nature gently reminds us that there is beauty in both holding on and letting go.

Autumn invites us to slow down, turn inward and take a moment to reflect on everything this year has brought us so far.

Just as the trees begin to release their leaves, we can gently ask ourselves:

🍂 What have I created, nurtured or grown this year?
🍁 What can I celebrate and feel grateful for?
🌿 What wisdom have I gathered along the way?
✨ And what am I now ready to release?

This evening is a chance to pause from the busyness of life and honour your own journey not just where you are going, but how far you’ve already come.

Through the soothing vibrations of the sound bowls, chimes and guided meditation, we’ll create space for gratitude, reflection, grounding and gentle release.

You don’t need to have achieved everything you hoped for.
You don’t need all the answers.

Sometimes the greatest harvest is simply recognising what you’ve learned, how you’ve grown and what you no longer need to carry forward. 🤍

Come and settle into the stillness of the Equinox.
Breathe. Reflect. Give thanks. Let go. 🌙🍂
