On Thursday 3 September, Nottingham CityCare hosted its annual Long Service Awards, an annual celebration recognising colleagues who have reached remarkable milestones of 20, 30, and 40 years of continuous NHS service.

The event hosted by Chief Executive Dr Nicole Atkinson and Director of People, Communications and Inclusion Namdi Ngoka, took place at Aspect House.

Opening the ceremony, Dr Atkinson and Namdi Ngoka paid tribute to the commitment shown by CityCare's longest-serving colleagues. Together, this year's award recipients represented an incredible 780 years of NHS service, spanning decades of compassion, expertise and dedication to improving health and wellbeing in the NHS.

We are delighted to congratulate our Chair, Vicky Bailey, on her appointment as a Deputy Lieutenant.
Vicky will take on the role alongside her role as Chair of Nottingham CityCare.

Deputy Lieutenants support the Lord-Lieutenant in representing His Majesty The King across the county and are appointed in recognition of their contribution to public and community life.

Vicky has made an outstanding contribution to Nottinghamshire through her leadership, commitment to public service and dedication to improving services for local communities.

This week Nottingham CityCare's Director of Operations, Helen Woodiwiss, visited one of our Adult Bladder and Bowel Clinics to learn more about the service and the difference it makes for patients.

Here's what Helen had to say about her time there:
"Today I spent the morning observing one of our Adult Bladder and Bowel Clinics, gaining a better understanding of the service. It was great to spend time with Becky. Her passion for making a difference shone through as she worked with patients to agree personalised care plans, aiming to improve symptoms while having a positive impact on their quality of life.

I also had the chance to meet members of the admin team, whose support is critical to keeping the service running smoothly. I am proud to see such compassionate, person-centred care in action."
