Mu upcoming workshop on Saturday 25th April 13:30-15:30 will be a Yin Yoga session encouraging inward focus, providing an opportunity to go a little “deeper” and explore what it means to let go of effort and ego.

Letting go of effort is often seen as counter intuitive in our modern day society, in which we are encouraged to strive, push and be the best, leading to a competitive, stressed and burnt out state of being.

However there is another way, the Daoists call this the ‘Wu Wei” or the path of effortless action. It doesn’t mean not doing, but rather doing while we are in “flow”, at peace and not so attached to the results.

This can be quite difficult for the Western Culture to appreciate, it is however a way in which we could find more comfort and authenticity.

During the workshop we will explore the concept of Wu Wei (using the Tao Te Ching) considering how we can adopt some of its principles, with the aid of pranayama (breath work), meditation and Yin postures.

The Elephant rooms is a beautiful space with mats, bolsters and blankets, feel free to bring your own.

Investment: £25 (booking details in the links above) or please email [email protected] for more information.

My first workshop of 2026 will be on Saturday 17th January 2-4pm on line.

An invitation to slow down, take a pause and rest, an opportunity to “Soothe & Settle” your Nervous System, the perfect way to start the New Year. In fact you could make this your intention for the next twelve months, start as you mean to go on.

January can be challenging for many of us. The festivities of Christmas are over and Spring seems such a long way off. Our Nervous systems are still wanting to hibernate which is actually the best thing for us, but often our commitments can make this difficult.

That’s where the practices of yoga are so beneficial as they can support us in times of transition and difficulty.

The afternoon will be a combination of Restorative type poses, Pranayama (breathing) & Meditation with the aim of encouraging deep relaxation.

The session will be on Zoom & available as a recording, so you don’t even need to leave the comfort of your own home.

As we commence the practice we will slowly take some gentle movements/stretches before relaxing in a series of Restorative postures with the aid of props such as bolsters, pillows and blankets.

The benefits these quieter practices are that we stop and have time to reconnect with ourselves drawing the attention inwards, & reducing stress.

Investment: £20 via Bookwhen (link above) or contact [email protected] for more information.

My next Day Retreat will be all about Resilience in Yoga. It will be on Saturday 8th November 10-3 at the Elephant Rooms in which we will explore "Paths of Yoga" and their relevance to us today.

I love the fact that yoga provides so many tools and insights for supporting us in the "ups" and "downs" of life. It changes our perception from yoga being a weekly class to a lifelong practice.
Yoga is such a deep philosophy with so many limbs and paths to explore. From times when a physical session with lots of Asana (poses) is what's needed, to days when our needs may be quieter with more Meditation and stillness.

The more yoga allows us to reconnect with ourselves, the more we begin to tune into our needs. These practices develop our capacity for love and compassion towards ourselves and other beings, enabling us to be a little more resilient.

During the workshop we will delve a little deeper into Yogic Philosophy. Going beyond just the physical elements to explore broader concepts from the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjalis Sutras.

We will be focusing on the Paths (Margas) of Yoga of which there are four,
Karma the Yoga of Action, performing acts of kindness with love.
Bhakti the Yoga of Devotion, the ability to see the divine in all beings.
Raga the Yoga of Meditation, focusing the mind.
Jana the Yoga of Intellect and will in which we study and develop our minds.

Throughout the day by the use of Asana (yoga poses), Chanting , Pranayama (breath work) and Meditation we will demonstrate how these Paths of Yoga are still very relevant today. Through the richness these teachings building resilience and showing us how Yoga gives us the ability to have fulfilling, enriched lives.

The morning will be an active Hatha Practice followed by an afternoon of Yin Yoga after a break for lunch.

Investment: £45 available via the link above.

Sometimes we want even our Yin practice to be a little slower and softer, especially when we may be struggling a little in the heat with fatigue or lack of sleep.

Over the last week or so I've found that this has been the case in my classes, not all of us will be energised by the sun so it's always important to check in with what you need.
This morning we used the wall as a prop, in tonights class we will do a lot of reclining always followed by a nourishing shavasana.

The main thing is to listen to your body, it will tell you what you need 🙏
