Last week, we had the privilege of delivering a two-day laryngectomy conference in collaboration with Manchester Foundation Trust and the Netherlands Cancer Institute – and what an incredible success it was.
Bringing together over 25 clinicians from across the UK, the event created a truly collaborative space to explore the full laryngectomy pathway – from surgical approaches and refinements through to rehabilitation and patient quality of life. The depth and openness of discussions made this a genuinely valuable learning experience for everyone involved.
A particular highlight was a cadaver dissection, which offered a rare and detailed insight into laryngectomy surgery. This allowed attendees to deepen their understanding of anatomical changes and appreciate the nuances between different surgical techniques in a way that simply isn’t possible in theory alone.
Beyond the learning, it was the connections, shared experiences, and collective passion for improving patient outcomes that made this event so special.
A huge thank you to all our collaborators, faculty, and clinicians who attended and contributed. 👏
This is how we continue to raise standards and drive innovation in laryngectomy care. 💙
