Blessed Solstice ☀️

We welcomed the first sunrise of summer at Castlerigg this morning, surrounded by ancient stones and the people I love.

There were gifts of 🌹 roses, laid out to sun-dry in the Solstice sun, ☀️ sunshine pendants, hanging around the children's necks, and 🍶 spell bottles, into which we each wrote down our wishes for the season ahead.

As we cycled home through the hedgerows, I spotted my first Meadowsweet blossom of the year. A potent blessing from the wild.

May this season bring warmth to your heart, abundance to your table, and the wisdom to bloom in your own perfect time.

Ahh I'm so full 🌕 from such a beautiful day yesterday ✨ I've had some wonderful feedback, and my dear friend got some fantastic footage, which I'll share with you after I've rested. For now, here was the set up...which I'm so proud of 🌼💛🌼 Giving thanks to our abundant mother, who provides all we need 🌎

My little herbal apprentice and I wandered the hedgerows & woodlands this morning, gathering herbs and wild greens for tomorrow’s lunch 🌿

Tiny hands reaching for Jack by the hedge, pockets full of garlic flowers, birdsong, and the gentle reminder that nourishment can come directly from the earth beneath our feet, leaves my heart full 🌱

Tomorrow we’ll share a nature-based feast made with seasonal plants gathered with care and gratitude. There’s something so sacred about eating with the seasons, knowing the stories of the plants on your plate, and remembering that food itself can be medicine 🌼

The bell tent is ready, the herbs are being prepared, the cordials are brewing, and I'm so excited 🌸

The hedgerows are bursting into life and this is when our local herbs are at their most vibrant. They're ready to be gathered, worked with, and honoured.

In this weekend’s Spring Herbal Workshop, we’ll step into that magic together

✨ crafting remedies to take home
✨ sharing a nourishing, herbal-inspired meal by the fire

This is a space to slow down, reconnect with the land, and remember the quiet wisdom of plants and season.

Here is your gentle reminder to make cold water infusions of Cleavers, a.k.a sticky w**d, in the late afternoons. It's such a simple but potent remedy. Take a handful of cleaves, give the bugs some time to find another home, rinse them, add to a jar with filtered water and that is it.

Cold water helps preserve its delicate constituents,. Cleavers has an affinity for the lymphatic system, supporting the movement of lymph...the fluid responsible for clearing cellular waste, immune byproducts, and excess proteins from the tissues.
Unlike the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump. It relies on hydration, movement, and gentle herbal support like cleavers to keep things flowing. When lymph becomes sluggish, it can show up as puffiness, congestion, or skin flare-ups.
Sipping a cold infusion offers both hydration and a subtle stimulus to lymphatic drainage, helping the body clear, move, and rebalance.
