We’re delighted to confirm that we’ll be attending the 5th Shoulder Rehabilitation Conference in Liverpool this year. The event will take place at Liverpool Hope University on 19-20th November 2026.

Clinical Manager Patricia McCotter and Managing Director and Clinical Specialist Orthotist Martin Matthews will be exhibiting across the two days and will have a selection of our Dynamic Movement Orthoses on display.

We’re also looking forward to hearing from our long-standing partner, Physiocure Founder and Director Anna Higo, who will be presenting “Joining the Dots: Understanding the Symptomatic Hypermobile Female Shoulder – Evidence, Inequity and Communication” and leading a workshop as part of the conference programme.

Patricia will also be hosting a workshop on Friday at 8am: DM Orthotics: “Dynamic Elastomeric Fabric Orthoses (DEFOs) What are they and how they can be added to the toolbox in rehabilitation.”

It’s World Spine Day!

Many different conditions and symptoms can cause problems for you and your spine. From simple things like maintaining good posture and staying active to more serious conditions like Spina Bifida, Scoliosis and Cerebral Palsy, looking after your spine and sharing awareness and support for those who struggle is what today is about.

One such person, Chloe was 11 years old when her mum noticed her spine ‘didn’t look quite right’:

“I was like a floppy ragdoll and had no energy, my brain wanted to keep going but my body wanted to go to bed.

Between the ages of 11-14 I didn’t want to have surgery. A lot of people think surgery is the solution, but I don’t believe surgery actually fixes Scoliosis. Aesthetically it will look better, but that doesn’t always help any of the problems caused when the spine is curved or improve any of the rotation. After the age of 15 I started to use a combination of different things to manage my Scoliosis and the consultants agreed I didn’t need to consider surgery anymore.

It’s World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day!

We had an incredible day at our three World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day clinics. Helping 14 different patients in Redruth, Chelmsford and Oswestry, it was a great opportunity to raise awareness for Cerebral Palsy, help patients with Cerebral Palsy and work with our partners, Mini Wonders Children's Physiotherapy and The Movement Centre.

Our Clinical Specialists, Holly, Sarah, and Caroline, have been working hard to determine the best Dynamic Movement Orthoses (DMO) for each patient to help manage their symptoms. We’re glad to have helped spread Cerebral Palsy awareness today and to have helped many people across the UK.

It’s International Ataxia Awareness Day!

Ataxia is an umbrella term for a group of conditions that can affect a person's coordination, speech and balance. While any part of the body can be affected by Ataxia, those with it often have issues with their balance and walking, swallowing, speaking, writing, eating and more.

Ataxia usually results from brain injury or conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis or strokes. However, there are ways to help manage the symptoms of Ataxia. One such way is with our Dynamic Movement Orthoses (DMO).

One of our patients, Janet was having difficulty with Ataxia in her hand following a stroke and with the use of our DMO Custom Glove, was able to find some relief:

“My DMO glove is the only thing I’ve found that has an immediate effect on an ataxic hand. I’ve been diagnosed with moderate ataxia which affects my coordination and hand control. My glove stops my hand shaking (something for which my carers are very grateful since it stops them getting accidently hit!). It’s also made exercise much easier and made it possible to learn to cook. I was first issued a glove by the NHS but I was so pleased by the effect that I paid for my own afterwards. I’d certainly recommend anyone with ataxia to try them”. – Janet

Today we celebrate National Manufacturers Day!

For over 20 years, we have worked with patients, clinical professionals, international distributors and partnered organisations to manufacture our Dynamic Movement Orthoses (DMO); while collaborating with universities and researchers to innovate and advance our high-quality orthoses.

However, none of this would have been possible without our diligent and skilled workforce. Our team of cutters, machinists and designers have ensured we continue to help people manage their musculoskeletal, neurological and genetic conditions.

This year we also retained our ISO 14001 certification. Our solar panels have supplied 40% of our total electricity consumption, allowing us to feed more electricity back to the grid than we use in a year.

We hope all our partners in the Cornwall Manufacturers Group have an equally happy day to celebrate their businesses, staff and achievements!

It’s Scoliosis Awareness Month!

Scoliosis is a neurological or idiopathic condition which can include vertebral rotation as well as an “S” or “C” shaped spine. The “C” shaped curve is often associated with neurological onset scoliosis due to low spinal muscle tone. The “S” shaped curve is often associated with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and more complex neurological scoliosis presentations.

There are many ways in which Scoliosis affects people’s lives, from uneven posture and balance, to the more personal, overlooked difficulties like clothing not fitting properly. It’s important we play our part this June to raise awareness of this condition which effects 2-3% of people in the UK alone.
