Holy Moly that was close! I decided to make a batch of laundry detergent. It suddenly started to volcano, far quicker than it has done in the past & came very close to the top of the very large pan I make it in. I didn’t want unsaponified batter all over my hob & drawer fronts (raw lye is nasty stuff), so I moved it to the sink as quickly as I could & stirred it like my life depended on it. It eventually dropped & thickened up, while my arm began to ache.
It’s now sitting at the back of the hob with a lid on it to complete saponification, before I dilute & fragrance it tomorrow.
