Been restoring these two.. put some yew handles on after sorting the blades ... the big guy had been used to split wood by the looks of it and had been hit on the spine with a hammer. Also was super fat behind the edge.
Another coat of my special 2:1:1 mix of citrus solvent: tung oil : walnut oil ...on the handles and a final strop.

Inspired by I have been wet forming some leather under the fly press.

Itching to work on these.
I have had 10 days off with an excruciating knee issue...now have 12 weeks of anti coagulants to deal with a little blood clot.
Never forge welded stainless before was holding my breath incase of delamination...all seems good so far.

Quick rough grind on these little peel and detail knives.
They are single bevel. Wrought iron from old farm fencing ripped up with an excavator and farrier file for the cutting edge.
(Dan) very kindly let me watch and have a go at fluxless forge welding, a few years ago. Now I am a bit more confident with my ribbon burner I am able to do fluxless welds in it. After tack welding the freshly ground faces together I leave them soaking in a pot of rapeseed oil, till I am ready to pop them in the forge.
