Self massage -TMJ
If you’re finding yourself clenching or grinding in the night or in periods of stress, just a couple of minutes doing some self massage can really help.
This technique forces you to unclench, relax those muscles and ease off any tender areas from over use of the muscle.
To find this muscle (masseter)
-use the opposite thumb to the side you’re treating and place it inside the cheek.
-Gently clench, just briefly to feel the muscle pop out so you know where to treat.
-Work down the muscle gently massaging and applying some compression in areas which are more tender.
