Almonds are one of our 7 core ingredients for a reason 🙌

They contain the highest protein and fibre content of any tree nut, they’re naturally rich in healthy fats, and they’re one of the world’s best natural sources of vitamin E.

That combination of protein, fibre and healthy fats can help slow digestion and keep you feeling fuller for longer after eating, while nutrients like magnesium help support energy production and blood sugar balance.

Almonds also contain natural fibre and polyphenols that help feed beneficial gut bacteria, supporting a healthier gut microbiome.

While most of our ingredients are sourced from the EU and UK to help keep food miles lower, almonds are one of the few we source from further afield. Ours come from California, where the climate produces almonds with the quality and consistency we look for.

They’re simply blanched and ground with nothing added and nothing taken away. Just real whole food ingredients, kept as close to their natural state as possible.

As a B Corp, transparency matters to us. We’d always rather be open about where our ingredients come from and why we choose them 💚

↓ 3 digestive health non-negotiables

1. 30 plants a week
Your gut is home to trillions of bacteria and just like a thriving city, it needs a diverse population to function. Different species of bacteria “eat” different types of plant fibres.

When you hit 30 different plants (including fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, herbs, and spices), you are providing a buffet for a wide variety of beneficial microbes.

2. Fibre as well as protein
Protein is essential for tissue repair and muscle growth, but on its own, it can be quite taxing on the digestive tract (and let’s be honest, it can lead to “slow” transit times).

This duo is the gold standard for feeling full. Protein handles the hunger hormones, while fibre physically fills the stomach.

3. Daily Purition Wholefood Nutrition
A single serving typically contains 7 to 10 different plants (such as flaxseed, sunflower kernels, almonds, chia, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds). Having 1 portion (40g) a day can get you nearly 1/3 of the way to your “30 plants a week” goal before you’ve even had lunch.

What’s on your list to keep your gut happy & healthy?

Today is World IBD Day, and we wanted to answer one of the questions we’re often asked: can you have our Wholefood Nutrition range if you live with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis?

In many cases, yes but there are some important things to consider, especially when it comes to fibre tolerance during flare-ups.

Because our blends are made from real whole food ingredients like nuts and seeds, they’re naturally rich in fibre. Some people find fibre really supportive, while others may need to reduce it temporarily depending on symptoms and medical advice.

That’s why we always recommend starting slowly and speaking with your GP or dietitian before making significant dietary changes if you’ve been diagnosed with IBD.

We’ve shared a few more considerations in this post 💚
Everyone’s experience with IBD is different. If you feel comfortable sharing yours below, it may help someone else.

We know food isn’t the whole answer. But it’s a powerful place to start 💚

What we eat can have a real impact on how we feel day to day: our energy, concentration, mood, and even how we cope with stress. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we wanted to share some of the simple, whole foods that can help support mental wellbeing.
Not because there’s one “perfect” diet. And not because small changes magically fix everything. But because looking after yourself in simple, consistent ways matters.

One of our customers put it beautifully:
“Every day of my new healthy morning routine makes me feel accomplished and rewarded for my consistency.”

And we think there’s something really powerful in that.

If you’re struggling with your mental health, please speak to your GP or someone you trust.
