Good morning, September! π The days are getting darker, wetter and colder, so at Golden Step weβre officially starting our Fall Prevention Exercise Season.
Our sessions will focus on balance, leg strength and multitasking movements β three important skills for staying steady and confident in everyday life.
Multitasking movements means practising movement while doing another task at the same time, for example walking while turning your head, stepping while counting, changing direction while listening to instructions, or moving while carrying something.
This matters because real life rarely involves doing just one thing at a time. We walk and talk, look around while crossing a road, carry shopping, avoid obstacles and react to what is happening around us. When attention is divided, balance can become more challenging. Practising these skills in a safe environment helps the body and brain work together more effectively.
Falls can cause bruises, fractures, head injuries, hospital stays, loss of confidence and reduced independence. Regular fall-prevention exercise can help improve strength, reactions, coordination and confidence β reducing the risk of falls and helping us stay active for longer.
π Better balance. Stronger legs. Smarter movement. More confidence.
Stronger today. Safer tomorrow. π
