Thought of the day…

For me, it’s not simply about the therapies themselves. It’s about the person who walks through our door.

We all have different needs, different pressures and different things going on in our lives. Sometimes we need physical relaxation, sometimes emotional support, sometimes a little guidance, or simply a safe space to stop for a while.

But one thing I believe applies to us all is that looking after ourselves is about so much more than one aspect of our health… I like to refer to this as ‘the building blocks to wellness’.

That’s why we offer a wide range of therapies and wellbeing support… from acupuncture, aromatherapy, massage and reflexology, through to talk therapies such as counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy, coaching and so much more. Our therapies are designed to support relaxation, restoration and a greater sense of balance.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. It’s about making small, meaningful choices to care for yourself, in whatever way feels right for you.

If you’ve never visited us before, you’re more than welcome to give a call for have a chat about how we might be able to support you.

Peachy Summer vibes 🍑

I seemed to have developed a little addiction to peaches this summer … as they come, grilled on the bbq or added to dishes to create some colourful tasty recipes. Here’s a few of my favs:

🍑Peach salsa with grilled chicken
🍑Seeded sourdough toast topped with Greek yoghurt, peaches, berries, honey and mixed seeds.
🍑Peach, white beans, mozzarella and basil salad

Sunshine on a plate 👌

Sometimes the best days are the ones with absolutely nothing planned.

I could have easily stayed home and caught up on work or done a few chores... but it was so lovely outside it would have been rude not to make the most of this glorious sunshine.

So, we opted for an impromptu 4-mile walk… no rush… just fresh air, sunshine, good company, and time to simply switch off.

These little moments are a chance to reset, de-stress, clear your mind, and recharge after a busy week. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy but as simply about getting outside, and appreciating what nature has to offer.

I truly believe these moments are just as valuable for your wellbeing as eating well and exercising.
They nourish your mind as much as your body.

Did you make the most of the sunshine this weekend? ☀️

We all know that the more consistently we exercise, the better our bodies respond. We get stronger, move better, have more energy and recover more easily.

Bodywork works in much the same way.

Massage, reflexology and acupuncture are just a few of the hands-on therapies that can support your wellbeing. They’re not just there for when you’re in pain or feeling stressed… they help keep your body balanced, resilient and functioning at its best.

The difference is that the benefits build over time. Here’s what that can look like:

A one-off treatment is a lovely reset. It eases tension, helps you switch off and gives your body a chance to recharge.

Monthly treatments are where I see the biggest difference and I would recommend to most. Your body starts to hold onto the benefits. Muscles stay more relaxed, movement improves, recovery is quicker, circulation is supported, and your nervous system becomes better at moving out of that constant “fight or flight” mode into “rest and repair.”

Weekly or fortnightly treatments can be transformative if you’re living with chronic pain, high stress, a musculoskeletal condition, recovering from injury or training regularly. Consistent treatment gives your body and nervous system the opportunity to adapt. Instead of simply relieving symptoms, we’re helping to reduce pain sensitivity, improve movement patterns, support healing, regulate stress hormones and create lasting change.

Think of it like going to the gym… one session feels great, but it’s consistency that creates results. The same is true for bodywork. 🤗💪

We’re here if you’re unsure what therapy is right for you… give us a call.

“Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment.” – Zig Ziglar

Love this quote as it reminds me that the things we do consistently have the greatest impact on our lives.

We service our cars before they break down. We charge our phones and laptops every day, so they don’t run out of battery. We water our plants regularly, so they continue to grow.

So why do so many of us often wait until our bodies are crying out for help before giving them the care they need, or, worse still, don’t do anything at all?

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned, both personally and through working with so many wonderful clients over the years, is that our bodies respond incredibly well to regular love, care, and attention. Your body thrives on consistency.

Whether that’s massage, clinical massage, reflexology, acupuncture, or another form of therapy, each treatment is an opportunity to support your body, calm / reset your nervous system, restore movement, ease pain, release tension, and reconnect with yourself.

Imagine how different life could feel if looking after your body became as routine as brushing your teeth or charging your phone.

Your body works hard for you every single day… show it some love.

This isn’t my usual post… but it feels too relevant not to share.

Huge congratulations to Chris (my other half), Luca Melon, Clare Kentish, Dan Randall, Jasper Bowyer and Nicola Perkins, who took on the epic challenge of swimming The Channel this weekend in an incredible 13 hours and 17 minutes! What an achievement. I’m so in awe of you all!

Watching this journey has reminded me that we’re capable of so much more than we often believe.

After breaking his back in 2023 and having a discectomy, Chris was told he could no longer run. Instead of letting that define him, he found a new challenge. Eighteen months of consistent training, recovery, and a commitment to looking after his body led him to this moment.

For me, this isn’t just about swimming The Channel. It’s about believing in yourself, embracing change, and remembering that progress starts with a decision and the courage to keep going.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to start looking after yourself, consider this your reminder. Start where you are and be consistent. You never know where it might take you.

Kim and I were having a chat the other day about social media and all the different platforms we spend time on. We both found ourselves saying the same thing... just how overwhelming the sheer amount of information can be about what we should and shouldn’t be doing to look after our health and mental wellbeing.

Honestly, it’s a bit of a minefield.

If I was just starting my own wellness journey, I’d probably have no idea where to start. It’s not that the advice on social media is bad, there’s some fantastic information and inspiration out there. But when our minds are already so full of the everyday demands of life, seeing endless suggestions about what we should be doing for can leave us wondering where to begin. And sometimes, when we feel this way, we end up doing nothing at all.

Whilst I’m a huge advocate for holistic and complementary therapies and the positive role they can play in supporting our health and wellbeing, as an integrated health and wellness practitioner, my advice is always to start slowly, even if that means going back to basics.

Find one simple moment each day that’s just for you. It could be sitting quietly with a cup of tea for 10–20 minutes, taking a gentle walk, or simply allowing yourself some uninterrupted breathing space.

These small moments create the clarity we often need and we’re much more likely to start seeing the wood through the trees and tune into what our mind and body are really asking for.

From there, you may find yourself naturally gravitating towards something specific… perhaps holistic therapies, yoga or Pilates, strength training, meditation, or another form of self-care. When something keeps catching your attention, explore it!

The truth is wellness isn’t about getting everything perfect. It’s about discovering what works for you.

Just start 🧡
