Chiropractic care isn’t just for adults, it can support people at all stages of life, including children 👨‍👩‍👧

As kids grow, develop and stay active through school, sport and everyday life, their bodies are constantly adapting. Chiropractic care may help support posture, movement, mobility and overall function as they grow.

At Back2Normal Chiropractic Clinic, care is always tailored to the individual, with gentle techniques appropriate for every age and stage of life.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect, and recognise the strong connection between mind, body, and overall health.

Our mental health, physical health, stress levels, sleep, movement, and nervous system are all more connected than many people realise.

At Back2Normal, chiropractic care is about more than just pain relief, it’s about supporting how your body functions, adapts, and copes with the demands of everyday life.

This week is a good reminder to check in with yourself, prioritise your wellbeing, and make time for the things that help you feel your best 💚

Don’t wait until you’re running on empty.

The best time to check in is when things are still functioning well. At that stage, the body is more adaptable, movement patterns are easier to optimise, and minor restrictions can be addressed before they develop into more persistent issues.

At Back2Normal Chiropractic Clinic, we focus on keeping your spine and nervous system functioning well, not just reacting when something goes wrong. Proactive care is always more effective than corrective care.

It’s not just backs that chiropractors treat!

A week inside the treatment room with Ben - just a snapshot of how varied chiropractic care can be, and the range of concerns people seek support for each week.

If something’s been bothering you, it may be worth considering chiropractic care too.

April is IBS Awareness Month - a time to shed light on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and the often-overlooked role of the nervous system in digestive health.

When we’re under chronic stress, our body shifts into sympathetic “fight-or-flight” mode. In this state:

- Blood flow is redirected away from digestion
- Gut motility becomes irregular
- Inflammation and sensitivity can increase
- Bloating, cramping, constipation, or diarrhoea can flare up

Ongoing stress, tension, and nervous system overload can keep your body stuck in survival mode, contributing to IBS symptoms.

Chiropractic care focuses on supporting healthy nervous system function, your digestive system works best when in a parasympathetic “rest-and-digest” state. By helping regulate stress responses and improving communication between the brain and body, we aim to support overall well-being.

This month, let’s talk about stress, the nervous system, and true whole-body healing 💚

Your Feet Are Your Foundation 🦶🚶

As we step into National Foot Health Awareness Month, we're here to remind you that your feet do more than just get you from point A to point B.

If you have flat feet (fallen arches), it can affect:
👣 Ankle stability
👣 Knee alignment
👣 Hip balance
👣 Low back posture

When the arches collapse, it can change how force travels up the body, sometimes contributing to discomfort beyond just the feet.

At Back2Normal Chiropractic Clinic, we look at posture from the ground up, because healthy movement starts with a strong foundation.

If you’ve noticed foot fatigue, uneven shoe wear, knee pain or low back tightness, your arches might be part of the story.

Book an assessment at one of our clinics and let’s take a look at your foundation.

Our bodies naturally change with age, so how can we protect them? 💪🏼

- 20s - Peak strength, strong muscles, resilient tendons and ligaments, highest bone density.
- 30s - Slow decline begins if inactive. Muscle, ligament elasticity and bone density start to reduce.
- 40s - Body compensates but tissue capacity gradually drops.
- 50–60 Muscle loss accelerates. Tendons, ligaments and bones tolerate less load.
- 60–70 Strength, balance and aerobic fitness become very important.
- 70–80 Maintaining muscle and movement becomes key to independence.

Simple Lifelong Advice
🏋️ Lift weights regularly (2–4 times per week).
🚶🏻‍♀️Walk often and stay physically active.
🏓 Include some impact activity (stairs, jogging, racket sports) to maintain bone density.
🍳 Eat enough protein to support muscle and connective tissue.
🥛Maintain key nutrients: Vitamin D, calcium, magnesium and vitamin K2.

Protein Intake Guideline:
- Aim for approximately 1.2–1.6 g of protein per kg body weight per day.
- Adults over 50
may benefit from 1.4–1.8 g/kg to help maintain muscle, support tendons and ligaments,
and protect bone health.
