MMA Bintulu Subcommittee Webinar Report

The MMA Bintulu Subcommittee successfully conducted the 3rd Kenyalang Series Webinar, “Mimickers in Dermatology: Common Rashes with Uncommon Behaviour,” presented by Dr Ingrid Ting Pao Lin on 27.5.26 evening.

The webinar attracted approximately 25 participants and featured insightful discussions based on real-life clinical case scenarios, making the session both practical and highly relevant to everyday medical practice. Participants were actively engaged throughout the session, with numerous questions raised during the interactive Q&A segment.

Overall, the webinar was well received and provided valuable learning opportunities for attendees, reinforcing MMA’s commitment to continuous medical education.

MMA Sarawak and SPMPS had a meeting on 26.5.26, Tuesday morning with YB Datuk Gerawat Gala, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring).

Foreign workers medical screening issues faced by the private healthcare sector in Sarawak (especially by GPs) were highlighted and some proposed solutions were given.

Thank you YB Datuk Gerawat Gala for taking time from your busy schedule to meet the MMA Sarawak and SPMPS Representatives.

The Private Practitioners Section (PPS) of MMA Sarawak and SPMPS held a GP Update followed by a dialog session with GPs and other doctors on 24.5.26 at the Imperial Hotel, Kuching.

Dr Liew Shan Fap, PPS MMA Sarawak Representative and SPMPS President gave a talk entitled Optimising PPI in GERD.
MMA Sarawak Vice-Chairman Dr Lau Bik Liang was the MC for the talk.

23 doctors from the private practice and 7 doctors from the government sector attended.

The event was funded by a PPS MMA Grant and a sponsorship from Cipla Malaysia.

MMA Sarawak Branch x MMA Team Building Camp 2026
We sincerely appreciate the efforts of MMA Terengganu in hosting us for the annual MMA Team Building event, held at the Bidong View Resort, Kuala Terengganu, from 18–19 April 2026.

MMA Sarawak, represented by Dr. Tan Shong Sheng (SCHOMOS representative) and Dr. Liew Shan Fap (PPSMMA representative), is grateful for the warm hospitality of our hosts and the excellent organization of the event.

Through team-building activities and networking with MMA members from other states, we have fostered trust, friendship, and a shared goal—a commitment to addressing local issues for our respective state members, while continuing to support national initiatives to strengthen the voice of our medical profession.
