WHY YOUR SHOULDER GOES NUMB AT NIGHT ⚡️
Waking up with a numb shoulder or arm is often blamed on poor circulation.
Your arm does not “fall asleep” because of blood flow alone.
In many cases, the issue comes from nerve compression.
When you sleep on your side, body weight can press into the shoulder.
This can compress the brachial plexus or nearby nerves that carry signals from the neck into the arm.
As a result, the signal flow is disrupted.
This creates numbness, tingling, or a “dead arm” sensation.
What makes this misleading is that it feels like circulation is cut off.
But in reality, it is the nervous system signal that is being affected.
That’s why changing position often quickly restores feeling.
Because the pressure on the nerve is released.
Fix positioning → not just circulation.
