I just received an email from a lovely colleague, and follower of OOMPH and LISA SAID SO 🤗
She says –
"Hi Lisa,
Congrats on bringing in the female contraception device :)
I have been asked by elderly women, for a vaginal device for prolapse, that they can use to avoid surgery.. ie: Prolapse Support Pessary Refill | femtherapeutics
It seems that they are not in NZ, and yet I think, could be very popular, and useful.
Just in case you were thinking of more great ideas :)
Love your work, T"
I say –
Thank you for your encouraging words, T!!
And yes – I had thought of that also 👊
I discuss the following in my FemCap article –
A possible bonus feature of purchasing a FemCap?
You may find that The FemCap also functions for you as a pessary to manage Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) following your pregnancy. With SUI you may experience leaks from pressure on the bladder when exercising, coughing, laughing, or with a big sneeze.
The FemCap can help here as it provides support to the bladder neck and straightens the urethra, thereby restoring the competence of the urethral sphincters. If this is the case for you, you could wear it daily WITHOUT ContraGel for this purpose (Because you only have to change it every 48 hours, you would only need to insert this device 3x weekly.) Please discuss this with your specialist Physiotherapist 👍🏼
