Our amazing Poetry Group made a zine! And they took it to the Christchurch Art Gallery yesterday for the Zine Fest hosted by WORD Christchurch.

The poems are a collection from the group, who meet on Wednesdays at 2pm.

The zines will be circulating around Cherish and available to purchase.

Join us at Cherish this Saturday for an All-Inclusive Weaving Circle open to men and women, beginners and experienced weavers of all nationalities and lineages.

Lea will share her love of woven basketry, traditional Indigenous Australian and Māori weaving wisdom, foraged fibres, natural dyes, meditation and women’s wisdom.

This is a relaxed gathering to connect, create and weave together—not a teaching workshop, though there may be demonstrations and opportunities to ask questions. Registration is free but essential, see more on our website.

TONIGHT: Crystal Soundbowl Journey with Danielle, 6-7pm @ Cherish.

The lovely Danielle has been sharing her gifts with the Sound bowls on Thursdays for some time.

She has moved her lunchtime session to Thursday evenings, starting today!

The evening sessions will be fuller, with a visualisation and a longer block of sound bowl experience.
A small fee is asked for this longer session, $25-35.

Danielle is very understanding of high sensory needs, she keeps the room cosy with low lights and tones of the bowls lower, for those that are a little more sensitive.

Colorful people of Cherish....

Community is found in connection and we can always find things to connect us, to feel like we belong.

On these days, it was simply wearing the same colour!

You don’t have to come knowing anyone.

Many of our community began with a first visit. The smallest step into community can become the beginning of something meaningful.

We grow stronger when we gather, learn and share life together. Whether you’re joining a workshop, sharing a meal or dropping in for a conversation, we’d love to welcome you.

Here are some invitations to consider for this weekend -please see more details and timings via the link in bio and on our website www.cherishchristchurch.co.nz.

The past week or so we have shared Matariki in our community with gatherings, reflections, craft, meditation, Kai and laughter.

Mānawatia a Matariki. ✨

As the stars of Matariki rise, may we remember those who came before us, cherish the gifts we hold today, and welcome the hopes we carry into tomorrow.

May this new season fill your heart with gratitude, your home with love, and your spirit with hope. May you find joy in simple moments, strength in those beside you, and the courage to nurture the dreams beginning to grow.

From all of us at Cherish, we wish you and your whānau a joyful and meaningful Matariki.
