🌱 **Spring is only weeks away...**

Most people think about spring cleaning their house.

But what about their body?

Imagine starting spring with:
✅ Less pain
✅ Better movement
✅ More energy
✅ Better posture
✅ Improved balance
✅ Greater resilience against illness

Your body is designed to heal and adapt.

Sometimes it just needs the right help.

A full assessment looks at how your muscles, joints, posture and energy systems are working together so we can identify what's holding your body back.

💚 **Try this simple Jin Shin Jyutsu hold today:**

Place one hand on the top of your head and the other over the centre of your chest.

Hold for 5–10 minutes while breathing slowly.

Many people find this calming and balancing, especially during busy or stressful periods.

Why wait until spring to feel better?

Book now and give your body the opportunity to move into the new season feeling its best.

🤔 **"I've been stretching every day... so why am I still tight?"**

Here's something that surprises many people...

Most muscle tightness isn't caused by muscles that are "too short."

They're tight because your brain has decided they **need** to stay tight.

This protective muscle reflex can happen because of:
✔ Poor joint alignment
✔ Old injuries
✔ Muscle imbalance
✔ Ongoing stress
✔ Repetitive movement

Stretching may give temporary relief...

But if the nervous system still thinks those muscles need to protect you, they'll tighten up again.

That's why many people spend months stretching with little lasting improvement.

My approach is different.

Rather than forcing muscles to relax, I help remove the reason they're guarding in the first place through structural balancing, muscle testing and gentle techniques including Jin Shin Jyutsu.

When the body feels safe again...

The muscles can finally let go.

If you've been stretching with little success, perhaps it's time to find out **why** your muscles are tight.

🌧️ **Winter isn't over yet... and your body knows it.**

By August, many people notice they're feeling:
❄️ Stiffer getting out of bed
😴 More tired than usual
🤧 Picking up every bug that's going around
😣 Living with aches they hoped would "just go away."

Your body is constantly adapting to stress—physical, emotional and environmental. When it can't adapt well, symptoms start appearing.

💚 **A simple Jin Shin Jyutsu technique to support your energy and immune system:**

Hold your **little finger** gently with your opposite hand for 2–5 minutes on each side while breathing slowly.

The little finger is associated with the heart and small intestine energy pathways and is often used to help calm stress, support circulation and improve overall vitality.

If your body has been struggling this winter, don't just mask the symptoms.

Sometimes the real cause is structural imbalance, muscle tension or nervous system overload.

A thorough assessment can often explain *why* your symptoms keep returning.

📢 IMPORTANT CLINIC UPDATE

A quick heads-up for everyone...

The clinic will be **closed from 31 July until 6 September** while I am overseas.

While that may seem a little way off, experience tells me that the last 2–3 weeks before I leave become very busy as people suddenly realise they wanted to get in before I go!

If you've been thinking:
✔ "I should get that ni**le looked at."
✔ "I'm due for a tune-up."
✔ "I've been meaning to book."
✔ "I'd like to feel better before spring arrives."

Then my advice is simple:

**Don't wait until the last minute.**

I can extend my hours, but I can only fit so many appointments into a day, and once those spaces are gone, they're gone.

Many people leave it until they are in more pain, more discomfort, or feeling more run down than they need to be.

A check-up now can help:
✅ Keep aches and pains under control
✅ Improve movement and flexibility
✅ Support your energy levels
✅ Help your body cope better through the rest of winter
✅ Identify underlying causes before they become bigger problems

If you'd like to be seen before I leave, please book sooner rather than later.

🌿 The Shortest Day Has Passed – Now Is the Time to Support Your Health 🌿

The winter solstice is behind us and the days are slowly getting longer again, but the colder weather is definitely making itself felt.

At this time of year many people notice:
❄️ More aches and stiffness
❄️ Lower energy
❄️ More coughs and colds
❄️ Feeling run down or struggling to shake off lingering symptoms

One of the simplest ways to support your body's natural healing ability is to spend a few minutes each day with a Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help technique.

✨ Immune & Vitality Boosting Hold ✨

Place your:
🖐 Right hand on the centre of your chest (over your breastbone)
🖐 Left hand on the top of your head

Hold gently for 3-5 minutes while breathing slowly and comfortably.

This simple hold helps harmonise your body's energy flow, supports vitality, and can help the body adapt to stress and seasonal changes.

You can then follow this by:

👍 Holding each thumb for 1-2 minutes.

The thumbs help calm worry and tension, which can often increase when we're stressed, tired, or not feeling our best.

Many people tell me they feel calmer, warmer, and more centred after doing these simple holds.

Remember, health is not just the absence of symptoms. It's how well your body adapts, recovers, and functions every day.

If you're feeling stiff, tired, run down, or your body just doesn't feel quite right, now is a great time to have it checked.

🤔 Still Struggling With The Same Health Problems Month After Month?

Do you have aches, pains, stiffness, fatigue, digestive issues, headaches, poor sleep, or other health concerns that just don't seem to improve?

Maybe you've tried different treatments, exercises, supplements, or medications, yet the problem keeps returning.

Many people spend months—or even years—focusing on the symptom, without discovering what's really causing it.

The truth is, symptoms can often be linked to underlying structural imbalances, muscle compensation patterns, stress on the nervous system, or other factors that haven't been identified yet.

That's why I'm offering a limited number of FREE Health Assessments.

During your assessment, we'll look at:

✔ Structural alignment and body balance

✔ Muscle function and compensation patterns

✔ Stress and nervous system load

✔ Factors that may be contributing to your symptoms

✔ What may be preventing your body from healing and functioning at its best

You'll leave with a better understanding of what's happening in your body and what options may be available to help you move forward.

Most importantly:

✅ No pressure

✅ No sales pitch

✅ No obligation to have treatment

This assessment is simply an opportunity to gain clarity about your health and understand what your body may be trying to tell you.

If you've been putting up with symptoms that aren't improving, now is the perfect time to find out why.

WHY STRETCHING DOESN’T FIX MUSCLE TENSION (most of the time)

If you’ve been stretching tight muscles but the tension keeps coming back… you’re not doing anything wrong — you’re just treating the symptom, not the cause.

Muscles don’t stay tight just because they’re “overused.”

They tighten because your nervous system has switched on a protective reflex.

This happens when your body perceives:
• Stress (physical or emotional)
• Old injury patterns
• Poor posture or compensation
• Repetitive strain or overload

When that reflex is ON, the muscle is being told: “Stay tight, protect this area.”

So what happens when you stretch?

You temporarily lengthen the muscle…
but the nervous system still says “protect,” so the muscle pulls straight back into tightness.

That’s why stretching alone often doesn’t hold.

Why muscle tension creates most pain:

Tight muscles can:
• Compress nerves, joints, and blood vessels
• Restrict movement and create compensation elsewhere
• Reduce circulation, leading to fatigue and aching
• Send constant “stress signals” to the brain that register as pain

So the pain you feel is often not damage — it’s ongoing tension and protection patterns.

Real change happens when the reflex calms down.

When the nervous system feels safe again:
• The protective grip reduces
• Muscles soften naturally
• Movement becomes easier
• Stretching actually starts to work and hold

Stretching can still be useful — but usually after the body has stopped needing to hold on so tightly.

Your body isn’t failing.
It’s responding to a message it thinks it still needs.

Change the message → and the tension can change too.

🤧 Coughs and Colds Starting to Appear?

We've noticed more people mentioning sore throats, coughs, sniffles, and low energy lately.

While no technique can guarantee you won't get sick, there are some simple things you can do to give your immune system the best chance to stay strong this winter:

✅ Prioritise sleep – your immune system does much of its repair work while you sleep.

✅ Stay hydrated – even mild dehydration can affect how well your body functions.

✅ Get outside daily – fresh air, sunlight, and movement all support overall health.

✅ Reduce stress where possible – prolonged stress can weaken immune function.

✅ Eat colourful foods – vegetables and fruit provide nutrients your immune system needs.

🌿 A Simple Jin Shin Jyutsu Self-Help Technique

Hold your THUMBS gently for 2-5 minutes each.

In Jin Shin Jyutsu, the thumb is associated with worry and the stomach/spleen energy pathways. Holding the thumb can help calm the nervous system and support the body's natural balancing processes.

Simply:
👍 Hold your left thumb for a few minutes.
👍 Then hold your right thumb for a few minutes.
👍 Breathe slowly and comfortably.

Many people find they feel calmer, warmer, and more centred afterwards.

Winter doesn't have to mean struggling through weeks of feeling run down.

Small daily habits can make a big difference.

FREE Health Check — If You’re Already Feeling Stiff, Tired or Run Down

As the cold settles in, your body starts tightening, slowing, and holding more stress…

Before that builds, try this simple Jin Shin Jyutsu hold:
👉 Place one hand on the back of your neck (base of the skull)
👉 Place your other hand on your forehead
👉 Hold gently for 2–3 minutes while breathing slowly

This helps calm the nervous system, ease tension, and support your body adapting to stress and seasonal change.

Simple — but powerful when done consistently.

But if you’re already noticing:
• Aches and stiffness
• Low energy
• Digestive changes
• Feeling run down

Then it’s time to look deeper.

I’m opening a limited number of FREE Health Assessments for new clients.
✔ No pressure
✔ No obligation
✔ Just a clear understanding of what your body needs heading into winter
