We are pleased to share that the French National Authority for Health, HAS, has issued a favourable opinion for the inclusion of The Insides System® on the List of Reimbursable Products and Services, LPPR.

This represents an important step toward long-term reimbursement and broader access to chyme reinfusion therapy for patients with type II intestinal failure in France.

We would like to thank the healthcare professionals, clinical teams and patients in France whose commitment has helped advance chyme reinfusion therapy and build the clinical evidence supporting this milestone.

When Chyme Reinfusion is hygienic, simple, and easy to manage, it can fit more naturally into everyday life. Even something as ordinary as preparing dinner can continue with confidence and less disruption.

For patients, that matters. Reinfusion should not feel like life has to stop. With the right routine and setup, it can become part of the day while normal moments like cook prep carry on.

The Insides Company is proud to announce that the updated systematic review of chyme reinfusion therapy (CRT) for double enterostomies and entero-atmospheric fistulae in adults, led by Dr Celia Keane, Dr Cameron Wells, Dr Sameer Bhat and Dr Chen Liu has been accepted and published in the Clinical Nutrition ESPEN Journal.

The review pools 23 studies and 620 patients - a substantial update to the evidence base since the last systematic review in this space in 2020. Across the literature: 80% of patients ceased parenteral nutrition following CRT, with improvements in liver function, intestinal output reduction, enterocyte function markers, and weight/BMI.

It's a substantial piece of work; PROSPERO-registered, spanning five databases and 21 conference proceedings. It consolidates and extends the evidence base for chyme reinfusion therapy, arriving just ahead of the recently completed REINFUSE global RCT.

Today at ACPGBI 2026, the REINFUSE Trial will be presented for the first time.

After more than three years of international collaboration, Associate Professor Dermot Burke will present findings from the first randomised controlled trial assessing the safety and efficacy of The Insides® System in patients with type 2 intestinal failure due to double enterostomy or enterocutaneous fistula.

Session: Short Papers 4: Inflammatory bowel disease, pouch surgery & stomas
