The Greater Capital Region Cancer Services Program was proud to join our community partner, Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Center, for the impactful "When the Safety Net Frays" panel discussion.

The conversation brought together healthcare leaders from across the region to discuss one of the most pressing challenges facing our communities: ensuring continued access to quality healthcare. Among the important topics addressed was the impact that a lack of health insurance can have on an individual's ability to receive preventive care and treatment.

As gaps in coverage continue to affect many New Yorkers, the Cancer Services Program is committed to helping fill those gaps. We provide NO COST breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings to eligible individuals without insurance. Additionally, our Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program can provide health insurance coverage for those who qualify after a cancer diagnosis.

Thank you to Whitney Young Health for convening this timely and meaningful discussion, and to the panelists and attendees who continue to advocate for a stronger healthcare safety net. Together, we can help ensure that everyone has access to the care they need, when they need it most.
