Two stakeholders can use the same precision medicine term and mean two different things. When that happens between a clinical guideline and a coverage policy, the patient waits.

AMCP's Partnership Forum brought patients, payers, PBMs, providers, pathologists, and lab benefit managers into one room for two days to discuss precision medicine.

One of their recommendations: agree on what the words mean. The result is 19 definitions across 5 categories, developed using natural language processing and refined by the participants themselves — now published in JMCP.

AMCP's Partnership Forum brought patients, payers, PBMs, providers, pathologists, and lab benefit managers into one room for two days to discuss the future of precision medicine.

They produced 8 guiding principles for determining and monitoring coverage of biomarker-driven testing — now published in JMCP.

What do you actually do in an APPE rotation at AMCP?

Ask Brielle! Students shape this rotation around their own interests, so no two look alike. Experiences span five weeks working across policy, education, professional affairs, and membership.

Brielle effectively worked interdepartmentally on a variety of different projects at AMCP. She wrote a grant, contributed to ARI's research team, and provided direction and development of AMCP's educational programs. We have no doubt she will be successful in her future rotations and beyond!
