The average diagnostic delay for hEDS is 22 years—which means most of us spent decades being told it was growing pains, anxiety, or just the cost of being a kid, and the people saying it genuinely believed they were right.

(Spoiler alert!) They weren't. And I will never stop being angry about that gap. (I’m trying REALLY hard here not to get on my soapbox, but you know where I’m at.)

We see children as young as 4 at Connective Wellness, because the earlier someone gets a name for what their body is doing, the less of their life gets spent wondering what's wrong with them.

If you comment DIAGNOSTICS and we'll DM you more info about our program 💜

Jason didn't sign up for a healthy person. (There was no version of me that came with that option 🙃)

He signed up for this body—the good days, the days I can't move quite right, the days I'm crying in the kitchen because something started hurting in a new way—and he has never once made me feel like a burden for any of it.

(He is also annoyingly good at clocking when I'm pushing too hard before I do. Which is its own kind of love.)

If you've got somebody like this in your life, hold them close. 💜

"Just exercise more" is genuinely terrible advice for an hEDS body—most of us tried it, in good faith, and then got blamed when it made things worse (too weak, too anxious, not trying hard enough, and on and on).

Flometrics® is what Jason built specifically for this body type. It meets you where you actually are—which might be the bed, the floor, or somewhere in between —and builds stability your nervous system can tolerate at a pace your tissue can handle.

There’s no crash afterward, and it legit saved my life.

If you can’t get to the clinic, consider working with our Flometrics movement coach, Logan. No, it’s not our exact in-clinic PT program. But it’s a movement program based on Flometrics principles that will help you immeasurably. We have dozens of patients who can’t visit us in-clinic who swear by this care (I’m one of them!).

“Just exercise” is genuinely terrible advice for an hEDS body. Most of us tried it, in good faith, and learned the hard way that traditional exercise either triggers flares or causes new injuries, sometimes both.

Real, real talk: flares don’t respond to willpower. (Ever. I tried super hard.) They are also impervious to the standard advice (push through, stay consistent, keep moving), which not only doesn’t help—it actively makes things worse.

So we made a free Flare Guide. It’s basically what to do when your body is doing The Thing, written by people who have personally been doing The Thing for decades.

Comment FLARE GUIDE and we’ll send it to you. 💜

Here’s a nervous system thing a lot of you are going to recognize.

You’ve done all the homework on your body. You know the patterns, you can explain the symptoms. And your body is still inexplicitly stuck. (My goodness, I was stuck.)

Let’s be real here. This reveals a nervous system that has been in survival mode for so long that information alone won’t unlock it.

You’re literally fried. You need to feel safe in the body again before things actually shift. And yikes—this is freaking hard.

Handling this is its own clinical specialty, and we have an NP on our team specifically for this work. (DD is, technically and emotionally, fabulous, and she is literally my most favorite gem of a human.)

Comment SOMATIC to see how you and DD could connect. 💜

Meet Nicole!

She is our Patient Advocate, and here is why that role exists in the first place.

A LOT of people walk out of a doctor’s or geneticist’s office with an hEDS diagnosis and absolutely nothing else—no plan, no provider list, no roadmap, just a piece of paper and the entire rest of their life to figure out around it. That gap, between getting diagnosed and actually being supported, is where most people unravel. (I have personally watched it happen more times than I want to count.)

This is exactly why we built the advocate role into our diagnostic model from the start. Nicole helps you find the right providers in your area, get them up to speed on hEDS and on you specifically, walk you through appointments, and just generally keep things moving so you aren’t project-managing your own healthcare alone.

And if you haven’t seen us for diagnostics? Nicole is still there for you.

Let’s talk about our Immersive Program!

This is the in-person version. A few focused days in our Amherst, NH clinic where you see the full team: the NPs, the PTs, the patient advocate, the lifestyle health coach, the works. All in coordination, over a couple of days, instead of spread out across nine months of separate appointments.

People have flown in from Canada for this. From Spain. From Ireland. (Like, actual other countries. Through customs. My mind is blown, and I’m humbled.)

Because being seen at this level, by a team that already knows hEDS, is genuinely hard to find.

You leave with a plan that makes sense for your body.

Comment IMMERSIVE and we’ll walk you through what this plan might look like for you.💜

Quick service note: a big chunk of what we do at CW is virtual now! Multi-state and growing.

So if you’ve been assuming this kind of care isn’t available to you because you don’t live in New Hampshire, you might want to re-check that assumption.

The diagnostic eval, follow-ups, most of the team’s input. Almost all of it can happen virtually.

Comment VIRTUAL and we’ll send you our services that can help you from anywhere 💜

Practical question: what are you supposed to do with hEDS the 29 days a month you’re not at a doctor’s appointment? Because most of us don’t have a great answer.

We have appointments, sometimes really good ones, and then a long stretch of trying to apply that to a real body in real time with no one to ask in between.

That gap is exactly where the CW Collective lives. A room you can show up to when something flares or doesn’t make sense or you just need somebody who gets it without 14 paragraphs of context.
