The crash isn’t random.

It’s not weakness, inconsistency, or you “overdoing it.” It’s your body doing what an hEDS body does when the underlying drivers—dysautonomia, mast cell activation, connective tissue that worked twice as hard as everyone else’s yesterday—haven’t been addressed at the root.

Nobody ever told me that. Thirty-eight years of “pace yourself” with zero explanation of why the crash was happening. (To be fair, most of them didn’t know. But that’s exactly the problem.)

That’s where Christina comes in. Functional medicine isn’t about telling you to do less—it’s about finding out why your body responds this way and actually building a plan around it. So the good days stop costing you three bad ones.

Comment FUNCTIONAL and we’ll send you everything about working with her. 💜

For 38 years I looked for a clinic that could see the whole picture—not all of my symptoms separately.

That clinic didn’t exist. So Jason and I built it.

Connective Wellness is in Amherst, NH—NPs, PTs, health coaches, somatic therapy, patient advocacy, all hEDS-aware, all coordinating together under the same roof.

People drive hours for it. People fly in from Canada, Ireland, Spain, Greece, Dubai for our Immersive Program because finding a team that already knows what they’re looking at felt worth the trip.

(My mind is still a little blown by that. I don’t take it lightly.)

But I also know that getting to Amherst isn’t possible for everyone—and the whole point of building this was that nobody should have to go without care because of where they live.

So most of what we do is now available virtually: care coordination, Flometrics movement coaching, lifestyle and nutrition coaching, somatic therapy, chronic illness coaching—from anywhere in the world. Diagnostics and functional medicine are available in select licensed states.

Comment VIRTUAL and we’ll send you everything that’s available 100% virtually. 💜

“Chiropractic” and “hEDS” in the same sentence—we know. We get the comments.

What Dr. Desiree does is not what may have hurt you before.

Gentle technique, hypermobility-informed, built around a body that already moves too much in all the wrong ways.

After seeing hundreds of hypermobile patients, she knows what works for hypermobile bodies.

You can learn more about her unique approach by commenting CHIRO below. 💜

The people who love us carry this too.
They watched us modify, cancel, push through, and crash. They stopped suggesting yoga and started learning what subluxation actually means. They celebrated the small physical wins because they understood—finally—that those wins cost something.
Movement with hEDS isn’t complicated because we’re not trying hard enough. It’s complicated because a body with hypermobile connective tissue needs to build strength in a completely different way—carefully, incrementally, without pushing past what the tissue can actually hold. Most standard PT doesn’t know how to do that. Flometrics® does.
Flometrics® was built specifically for this body type, and we’ve now supported thousands of patients with it—including virtually, which means wherever you are in the world, you can learn this approach and actually start moving in a way that doesn’t cost you the next three days.
We have both in-person and virtual ways to learn about this approach. Just comment FLOMETRICS and we’ll send you the details. 💜

I spent years eating clean and wondering why I kept getting worse.

Here’s what nobody tells you:

1️⃣ “Spinach is a superfood” unless you have MCAS, in which case it’s one of the highest histamine foods you can eat. Same with avocado, most fermented foods, and anything you cooked yesterday and saved for today. The clean eating list and the low-histamine list are almost opposites.

2️⃣ “Cut the salt” is standard advice that will actively tank a POTS body. Dysautonomia bodies need higher sodium and fluid intake to maintain blood pressure—heart-healthy low-sodium eating makes POTS symptoms worse, not better.

3️⃣ “Eat more fiber” assumes a gut that empties normally. Gastroparesis—which is extremely common in hEDS—means your stomach already moves slowly. High fiber makes bloating, nausea, and pain worse for a gut that’s already struggling.

4️⃣”Find a plan and stick to it”? Your triggers are not the same as anyone else’s. Not the list you found on Google. Not what works for your friend with MCAS. (Not even what works for me—and I built a clinic around this.) There is no universal hEDS food protocol.

This is why we have Yentl and Sabrina. Not to hand you another food rule to follow—to actually figure out what YOUR specific body needs.

Comment NUTRITION and we’ll send you everything about working with her. 💜

The hEDS community has been passing this knowledge to each other for years.

Not doctors. Not specialists. Us. In comment sections, in DMs, in late-night threads, in videos. Because the average diagnostic delay for hEDS is 22 years—and at some point, you stop waiting for the system to catch up and start doing the research yourself.

(And then you find the right account—thank you Allison Tennyson—at the right time and suddenly 22 years of “I don’t know what’s wrong with me” makes sense in about four minutes.)

You were not dramatic. You were not anxious. You were not imagining it. You were right—you just had to find that out without any help.

And if you have the dots but nobody has connected them yet, comment DIAGNOSTICS to learn more about our program.

We are currently licensed to diagnose in NH, VT, MA, ME, RI, FL and CA (with more states pending).

Thirty-eight years of trimming the symptom list before the appointment even started—deciding which things were worth mentioning and which ones would make me sound dramatic, watching the doctor’s eyes glaze over somewhere around symptom four anyway.

That is not what care is supposed to feel like.

At Connective Wellness, you don’t have to edit yourself before you walk in. We already know what hEDS is, what comes with it, and how all of it connects—the fatigue, the pain, the GI stuff, the thing that started happening last Tuesday that you almost didn’t mention because you weren’t sure it counted.

(Bring the whole list. We want all of it.)

We are located in Amherst, New Hampshire, and have options to work with us virtually!

Comment APPLICATION and we’ll reach out to get you started. 💜

The exhausting part isn’t just being sick. It’s being sick and also having to fight, every single appointment, to be taken seriously.

A system where you see 19 specialists before anyone connects the dots. Where 15-minute appointments are not nearly enough for you to discuss your medical history. Where “your labs are normal” ends the conversation instead of starting it.

I spent 38 years in that system. I know exactly what it feels like to leave an appointment with another referral and a symptom list I had already trimmed before I walked in—because I learned that listing too many makes them look at you differently.

(I was positively feral about it, for the record.)

Connective Wellness is what I built when I decided that “normal labs” was not a diagnosis. A team that actually knows what hEDS does to a body.

Comment INFO and we’ll show you how we do things differently here. 💜

Nobody hands you a playbook for the week everything hits at once. 🙃

From the generic estrogen patch that isn’t quite doing its job, to taking a shower on a 90 degree day because I am a person who occasionally needs to be clean—my POTS had extremely strong feelings about all of it.

(The only thing my body has agreed to accept this week is Bubbies bread and butter pickles. My body has opinions. I have stopped arguing with them.)

The hardest part of flares isn’t any one thing. It’s not knowing what to do when you’re already in the middle of it—with no reserves left to think clearly about it.

That’s why we made a free guide for exactly this. Seven steps, written by people who have been living in these bodies for a combined several decades and have strong opinions about what actually helps.

(Just comment FLARE GUIDE and we’ll send it to you 💜)
