Some of you are living life in 5th and 6th gearâŚ
and wondering why your body wonât just âcalm down.â
But sweet friendâ
you donât go from survival mode to peace overnight.
And I see this every single day in my workâŚ
because helping women regulate their nervous system
is actually one of the hardest parts of healing.
Not because youâre unwillingâ
but because youâve been in âgo modeâ since you were 15.
đ¤ Always pushing
đ¤ Always achieving
đ¤ Always carrying more than you were meant to
đ Itâs like driving a stick shift.
I canât take you from 6th gear and slam you into neutral.
Thatâs when the car jerks⌠or stalls.
And itâs the same with your body.
So I wonât just tell you to ârelax.â
Because if your nervous system doesnât feel safe yetâŚ
that feels impossible.
Instead⌠we downshift.
Gently. Intentionally. With grace.
⨠5 â 4
⢠Eat your meals sitting down, without multitasking
⢠Step into the morning sun and let God meet you there
⢠Play worship music instead of a podcast
⨠4 â 3
⢠Go for a slow walk and notice creation around you
⢠Clean your kitchen⌠but slowly, without rushing
⢠Breathe deep while reminding your body: âI am safeâ
⨠3 â 2
⢠Do something creativeâcoloring, baking, journalingâwithout a timeline
⢠Sit with your coffee a little longer than feels productive
⢠Put your hand on your heart and thank God for sustaining you
⨠2 â 1
⢠Rest without earning it
⢠Be still, even if it feels unfamiliar
⢠Let peace feel⌠okay
This is how healing happens.
Not by forcing stillnessâ
but by teaching your body, little by little,
that itâs safe to slow down.
âAnd the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heartsâŚâ đ¤
You donât have to slam on the brakes.
You just have to trust Him enough to downshift.
