Listen…

I love the Finals as much as the next person. 🏀

But after the Conference Finals, some of my clients were already coming into appointments exhausted talking’ about:

“Well you know… the playoffs.”

Friend.

The playoffs are not supposed to take YOU out too.

As a Dietitian who cares deeply about quality of life, energy, recovery, mood, movement, cravings, and sleep, I need y’all to understand something:

Sleep is not a luxury.

It is part of your performance strategy too.

Research continues to show that inadequate sleep can increase cravings, appetite, and desire for highly palatable foods while also affecting recovery and energy levels.

So yes…
you absolutely can:

🏀 Watch the game
🏀 Airfry the wings
🏀 Enjoy the snacks
🏀 Have fun with your people

AND still support your body at the same time.

This is your reminder to:

✔️ Hydrate
✔️ Eat protein before tipoff
✔️ Go to bed after the game
✔️ Stop arguing online at 12:48 AM 😂

Because unlike the players…most of us still have work, meetings, kids, gym goals, and responsibilities in the morning.

Alright yall. I’mwatching you.

Who are you rooting for?

So now my “Fuel the Run. Fuel Your Life.” session has become very immersive because baby… I am TRAINING.

Hydration. Fiber. Protein. Recovery. Cardio. Prayer.
Everything counts now. 😮‍💨🏃🏾‍♀️ Let me get my ass up.

Richmond, see y’all in September.

It Takes a Village – and We’re Proud to Be Part of It!

We’re honored to collaborate with the Town of Manchester on the “It Takes a Village Postpartum Program” — a vital initiative supporting birthing families living in Manchester, CT through wraparound postpartum care and support.

At NuBeing Doula Services, we believe every family deserves to heal, grow, and thrive with the right support. Through this collaboration we are able to continue to advocate for families in the communities we serve — one village, one family at a time.

“The It Takes a Village Program— tracks 100 families throughout the duration of six weeks post-childbirth to provide wraparound support in the form of vouchers for services, financial support, mentorship, and education to address challenges such as isolation and loneliness, financial stress, and lack of support during the postpartum period. For six weeks, participants will be connected to these services while having empowering conversations with a member of our care team. Each week has a dedicated topic tailored to the postpartum experience such as community support, coordination of integrative health services, support systems, and more. Benefits include weekly financial assistance up to 6 weeks totaling $600, education and resources to address postpartum challenges, mentorship for fathers, and a postpartum care bundle. To qualify, participants must be 18 and older, onset of 32 weeks pregnant and up, or up to 8 weeks postpartum. Applicants must LIVE, WORK, or receive pregnancy-related services in Manchester.”

Maybe the breakup wasn’t the end of her.

Maybe it was the return.

Some women lose themselves in relationships slowly.

Not all at once.

Little by little.

They stop taking pictures.
Stop resting.
Stop eating well.
Stop moving their bodies with joy.
Stop feeling desirable.
Stop speaking up.
Stop prioritizing themselves.

And then one day…
they look up and barely recognize themselves anymore.

So when the relationship ends, yes, there is grief.

But sometimes?

There is relief too.

Because now she can hear herself again.

Now she’s sleeping.
Now she’s nourishing herself.
Now she’s laughing with friends again.
Now she’s going to therapy.
Now she’s taking the walks.
Now she’s strength training.
Now she’s buying the clothes.
Now she’s remembering what she likes.

And suddenly the people who once ignored her needs…
want back in line.

Healing changes your standards. So she told him to “Get in line.”

The goal was never revenge.

The goal was restoration.

And a nurtured woman moves differently.

There’s a lot of fear in the air right now.

Insurance premiums. Coverage. Access.

People are nervous about their health—and what happens when support feels out of reach.

I won’t pretend I’m immune.

Birthing something new always comes with nerves.

But here’s what I know:
When systems shift, new pathways are built.
What’s needed doesn’t disappear—it evolves.

Support may not look like one-on-one anymore.

It may look like community.

Education.

Guidance you can carry with you.

If you’re paying attention, this season isn’t asking you to quit caring about your health.

It’s asking you to stay curious about what’s next.

Fear contracts.

Possibility builds.

I’m choosing to build—because too many people need it.

At the end of the year, I concentrate on buttoning up my books and client reviews as we prepare for the next year.

Wins are celebrated and we strategize to establish goals for the next year.

My clients watch for my own consistency and inspiration. They tell me so, and it pushes me to stay accountable to me.

With this is mind I love the end of the year wrap-up’s to see where I needed up.

First up is . My victory lap was pretty alright this year. I wanted to work on my cardiovascular health and improve my VO₂.

VO₂ max is how well your body uses oxygen to create energy. When it’s stronger, everyday life feels easier—walking, climbing stairs, playing, working, and living with more ease and confidence as you age.

It can impact surgical procedures as well. Plastic and Cosmetic surgery results don’t just depend on the procedure—they depend on how well your body uses oxygen to heal. A stronger VO₂ max supports better circulation, faster recovery, and the stamina your body needs to repair itself.

I think I did alright!
