Pregnancy doesn't protect you from skin cancer, so don't skip your skin checks.

🤍 During pregnancy, it's common to notice new or changing moles as your body changes. While many of these changes are harmless, any mole that is growing, changing in color or shape, bleeding, itching, or simply doesn't look like your other moles should be evaluated.

Early detection is key, and skin exams are safe during pregnancy.

Dr. Luckett breaks down which common acne-fighting ingredients are safe during pregnancy and which ones are best to avoid. Azelaic acid and benzoyl peroxide are safe options, and glycolic acid can be used at concentrations under 20%. When it comes to salicylic acid, she recommends holding off, and topical retinoids should be avoided during pregnancy.
