Peptide safety is one of the most reassuring parts of our practice, and they consistently prove to be some of the safest treatments we provide. We don’t just rely on theory to make that claim. The proof is right there in the data when we compare pre- and post-treatment lab results, which show how cleanly and effectively the body processes these compounds.

While there is no reason to fear peptides, you still need to be smart about where you get them. Prioritizing American-sourced peptides is a must to guarantee quality, purity, and safety. Ultimately, these tools work best under the supervision and guidance of an attentive practitioner who can tailor the protocol to your exact biology and monitor your progress along the way.

Testosterone optimization is about much more than just jumping straight into replacement therapy. I talk to people every day who are looking for ways to improve their levels, and it is important to know that there are actually three main options to stimulate natural production before we even consider full replacement. We can look at things like HCG, which helps stimulate your body’s natural signaling, as well as options like Enclomiphene or Clomid.

Each of these works differently to encourage your own system to create what it needs. My goal is always to find the most effective path for your specific biology rather than just applying a one-size-fits-all solution. If you want to know which approach makes the most sense for you, reach out to check your own personal labs so you can see exactly where your levels are and what your options look like.

Hormone replacement therapy and the fear surrounding it often stem from outdated information that has since been corrected. For years, there was a major concern that estrogen was directly linked to cancer, but the FDA has actually removed those black box warnings because that blanket concept has been refuted. While it is true that you need to balance estrogen with progesterone to protect the uterus, the idea that hormone therapy is inherently dangerous just doesn’t hold up against modern data.

I see people every day who are hesitant to start treatment because of these old narratives, even when their labs show they are severely depleted. It is my job to help you look past the noise and understand what the current science actually says about your health. You don’t have to live with the symptoms of hormonal imbalance because of misconceptions from decades ago. R

Hormone replacement therapy can completely change your life when it is done right, yet I still see so many people who have been scared away from it. I recently worked with a 56-year-old woman who was living in a state of constant burnout and exhaustion. She had been told by a previous specialist that HRT was dangerous, which left her struggling for years with no real way to recover from daily stress. When we finally ran her labs, her levels were basically non-existent.

We help people navigate these exact types of cases on a daily basis to move past outdated fears and look at what the science actually says. Once we addressed her hormonal depletion, she finally had the foundation she needed to start feeling like herself again. You don’t have to guess about your health or settle for feeling sub-optimal. Reach out to check your own personal labs so that you know exactly where you are and what your body actually needs to thrive.

Training and longevity go hand in hand because no peptide or hormone can replace a solid foundation of hard work. If you aren’t prioritizing consistent exercise and skeletal health, you’re leaving the most important part of the equation on the table.

True vitality comes from combining the right stimulus with targeted medical support. You have to give your body a reason to use the resources you’re providing it. When you nail the basics like movement and strength, the science can actually do its job to take you to the next level.

We’re bringing this mindset to our new Longevity Center in SoHo. Citrin Longevity. It’s a completely fresh approach to wellness that balances peak performance with long-term health. Reach out to come tour the center and meet the team.

Gallbladder health and SIBO are two topics that I find myself connecting more and more in my practice. While many GI doctors do amazing work, I often see cases where the actual functionality of the gut is being overlooked. It can be mind-blowing to realize that even if you have a clear diagnosis, you still aren’t getting the results you want because the mechanical side of the system isn’t being supported.

If you caught my last video about the patient struggling with severe constipation and microbial overgrowth, this is the missing link. When the gallbladder isn’t releasing bile properly, you lose your body’s natural way of regulating bacteria in the small intestine. You can treat the overgrowth all day long, but if you don’t fix the underlying plumbing and ensure that bile is flowing, the environment will remain ripe for these issues to return. Taking a functional approach means looking beyond just the infection and making sure every organ in the digestive process is doing its job.

Gallbladder dysfunction symptoms are often the missing piece of the puzzle for patients who feel like they’ve tried everything for their gut. In the previous video, I talked about a patient with severe SIBO and SIFO who couldn’t go to the bathroom without laxatives. After we looked closer, we realized that her gallbladder was a massive part of the problem. It wasn’t just about the overgrowths; her system was failing to move bile properly, which is essential for keeping the small intestine clean and functioning.

When the gallbladder isn’t working right, you lose that natural “soap” that breaks down fats and keeps bacteria in check. This patient’s gallbladder was so sluggish that it was contributing to a vicious cycle of constipation and microbial overgrowth. By focusing on supporting bile flow and gallbladder health, we’re finally able to address the mechanical reason why her SIBO and SIFO kept coming back. It just goes to show that if you don’t fix the underlying plumbing, you’ll keep fighting the same uphill battle with your digestion.

Chronic infection treatment often uncovers hidden issues that a standard physical might miss. In the first part of this case, I mentioned a patient struggling with severe digestive issues and systemic pain. As we dug deeper into his recovery, something very interesting happened when we started him on a basic B complex. Weirdly enough, taking that supplement triggered a three-day illness where his body had to fight off an underlying infection that had likely been there for a long time.

This reaction is actually a good sign that the body is finally recognizing and clearing out a dormant problem. We also found that he was dealing with POTS, which stands for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. This explained why he had so much trouble standing up and was constantly feeling dizzy. By identifying these specific layers of infection and autonomic dysfunction, we can move past just managing symptoms and start focusing on a real, long-term recovery plan.

Methane-dominant SIBO is a really tough condition that can completely derail your quality of life. I recently worked with a patient who was struggling with severe GI issues from a methane-dominant, gram-negative bacterial overgrowth. By the time he came to see me, his diet was incredibly restricted. He was down to eating only a few things like chicken and peeled potatoes. Those can be good sources of resistant starch, but they shouldn’t be the only things on your plate.

Beyond the digestive discomfort, his symptoms were showing up everywhere. He was dealing with intense joint pain and his sleep had suffered so much that he was only getting three to four hours of rest a night. He had also lost a lot of weight because his body simply wasn’t absorbing nutrients properly. We started a comprehensive treatment plan and did a full workup to address the root cause of the overgrowth. Seeing his progress reminds me why it is so important to look at the whole picture when you’re treating the gut.
