A hearing evaluation is a lot less intimidating than it sounds.

Most of the appointment is just listening: a few tones, a series of words to repeat back, nothing invasive. Bringing a friend or spouse along can help too, since they often pick up on patterns you don't notice in yourself.

The whole visit typically takes under an hour, and you'll walk out with real answers, not more questions.

Dr. Davis wore two hats at this year's Summer Sinus Symposium in Miami, hosted by The American Rhinologic Society.

He served as a panelist for the session on managing chronic cough. He also moderated the session on contemporary in-office nasal and sinus surgery, which featured dissection work led by Dr. Greg Davis and assisted by Dr. Ja Patel. Sessions like these bring together some of the leading voices in rhinology to compare notes on what's actually working in practice.

There's no single timeline for adjusting your hearing aids.

Some patients notice a difference within the first few days, while others need a few weeks for their brain to relearn sounds it hasn't picked up clearly in years. Either way is normal. What matters most is staying in touch with your audiologist during that stretch.

Small adjustments along the way are often what turn a hearing aid from "fine" into one that actually works for your life.

Sinuses, allergies, hearing, voice, and swallowing all influence each other. Nasal obstruction affects sleep. Untreated allergies fuel chronic inflammation. Post-nasal drip irritates the throat and changes your voice. Addressing one piece in isolation often misses what's maintaining the cycle.
