Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health

The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health is dedicated to giving back to Idaho and addressing the root causes that impact health.

The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health, Inc. is a non-profit charitable foundation established in 2001 by Blue Cross of Idaho. The creation of the Foundation stemmed from the desire to positively impact the health of all Idahoans through wellness and prevention programs. The Foundation promotes and encourages the health of all Idahoans through collaborative partnerships, health programs and community giving. The Foundation is actively committed to addressing the health needs of Idahoans and is working hard to promote a healthier Idaho. The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and serves the state of Idaho. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.

25 years 💙 44 counties: Butte County
We made the scenic drive to Arco and visited with our partners at the Butte County School District. We helped the district launch health professions CTE programs in the high school a few years ago. The best part about touring all 44 Idaho counties is visiting with partners and hearing about the impact of our work together. Butte Pirates

Where's Lisa? She covered a lot of ground in Eastern Idaho last week, meeting with mayors from Franklin, Malad, Preston and Soda Springs as part of the Mayor's Walking Challenge. Also, you can't visit Preston without seeing the Napoleon Dynamite house! We're down to the final week of October. There are 126 mayors walking to earn funds for their cities! 25 years 💙 44 counties: Benewah County
It's Foundation Friday! We packed a lot into our visit to beautiful Benewah County. We celebrated our 25 years as a health foundation with partner St. Maries Joint School District No. 41. We then took a nice walk with City Of Plummer Mayor Chris Dohrman on the paved Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, which connects Plummer to Mullan! Finally, we stopped in Tensed on our drive back home. We enjoy meeting partners and seeing our great state, one county at a time!

Where's Lisa? She's been walking around Eastern Idaho meeting with mayors who are participating in the Mayor's Walking Challenge! We had an active celebration today in City of Idaho Falls. Our program officer Lisa Bearg and Idaho Falls Mayor Lisa Burtenshaw took a "casual" 15,000 steps today! We were celebrating our 25 years as a health foundation and the Mayor's Walking Challenge! Thanks for being a great partner and a champion for the importance of physical activity.

Mayors from Ririe, Roberts, St. Anthony, Shelley, and Tetonia used their conference lunch break to get some steps in for the Mayor's Walking Challenge! "This has been a great opportunity to cheer each other on," Shelley Mayor Kim Westergard said. We love seeing mayors connect!

Where's Lisa? She made her way to Council and City of Cambridge, Idaho as part of the Mayor's Walking Challenge. In Council, she walked with first-year mayor Gabe Wilson and city clerks Ashley Scott and Pepper Jordan. In Cambridge, it was great to see Mayor Mark Loveland again. He attended our Community Health Academy in 2025, and the city won the Community Health Champion Award in 2026.

Where's Lisa? She's spending a lot of time walking with mayors during the Mayor's Walking Challenge! She, Payette Mayor Ray Wickersham, City Council President Mike Kee, and Rosie, had a nice walk along the Payette Greenway. Did you know Payette is where the Payette and Snake Rivers intersect? We love learning on these walks, too.
