Envision is often the bridge between sight and blindness, hearing and deafness, and are instrumental in the early detection of these conditions for the community members of Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Envision provides the community with a number of different programs aimed at alleviating suffering for people in need of medical attention. Services include:
Envision Eye Bank, which obtains, medicall
y evaluates and distributes corneal eye tissue in the United States and around the world. Yearly, close to 300 people are given the gift of sight through Envision Eye Bank. The Idaho Lions Vision Clinic provides eye care to low income individuals who lack vision insurance and are unable to afford an eye exam and pair of prescription eyeglasses. The goal of the Idaho Lions Vision Clinic is to provide quality eye care, and affordable prescription eye glasses to our Idaho and Eastern Oregon communities. The Idaho Lions Hearing Aid program and Idaho Lions Personal Healthcare Assistance program provides financial assistance for sight restoring surgeries and hearing aids to those in need. We are able to provide this type of financial assistance because of dedicated people who are passionate about helping their community and donate to Envision. The Community Health Screening program allows Lions Clubs, community organizations, daycares and schools to utilize Envision's vision and hearing screening technology to provide free preventative health screenings. Envision will train and schedule reservations throughout the year for the use of vision and hearing screening equipment to detect if further medical evaluation is required. The Idaho Lions Eyeglass Recycling allows Envision to provide medical mission teams with eyeglasses when they travel around the world providing healthcare. Locations our donated eyeglasses have gone include Honduras, Belize, Rwanda and Peru. The Hearing Aid bank allows people to donate lightly used hearing aids to be refurbished and distributed back into the community.
