Just got back from a very productive trip to Colorado. Made some content with the TAD master himself , did a week long cadaver dissection with Tom Myers of , and had a small amount of me time to enjoy Colorado.

1-3: At Dr. Baumgaertel’s Longmont office, making some informative content for YouTube. Can’t wait for you guys to see this one!

4. In the lab with my dissection group and the founder of Anatomy Trains - the concept that muscles and fascia run as long trains in the body instead of isolated muscle groups - Tom Myers (center of photo).

5. We got to enjoy one day of snow! (Exciting for Californians) ❄️

It has been so nice without an expander in or braces on. I don’t have to bring a waterpik everywhere. I can use regular floss. I’m not constantly attending to some new wound in my mouth from all the metal. 😭 Even dental cleanings are easier, as was experienced today.

Had a great time up in the Bay Area, creating content with Dr. Brian Hockel , Dr. Alena Larios , and Dr. Anil Rama

Sadly I forgot to get a photo with Dr. Larios and Dr. Rama, but here are some highlights from the trip. Be sure to check out my YouTube for fun and informative upcoming videos.

Such a great weekend at the Winds of Change event this past weekend in Chicago.

4. Getting a chance to finally hang out with Dr. Newaz and meet Bay Area’s sleep medicine neurologist, Dr. Anil Rama

6. Going to the “school of Jaffari” - watching Dr. Jaffari practice MMA in the cadaver lab, where he also taught me how to install MARPE. We also had direct instruction from an experienced OMFS. What an experience!

I took my FME out, and now I’m figuring out my next move. MARPE? DJS? Do nothing? What are your thoughts?

I started this journey in 2016 with Invisalign. It’s been so long and filled with so many unexpected turns. I remember having issues with my midline and asking my orthodontist at the time how we can fix it. She told me I needed more space. I had read some study about a palatal expander being connected to nasal breathing, and asked about getting that. She looked at me like I was crazy. For both requesting an expander, and for implying there was a connection between the palate and nasal breathing.

I have had two nose surgeries and two adult palatal expanders and the expanders are the ONLY thing that affected changes to my nasal breathing.

If providers are telling you in 2026 that adult expansion is not possible, go somewhere else, because it IS.
