Today at PHI, Florida Epilepsy Services (FES) was proud to have our Executive Director, Lenore A. Brinson, speak alongside fellow directors Jeremiah Stone and Roxanne Cogil for a meaningful discussion on State-Funded Public Health Epilepsy Programming.

The conversation highlighted the critical role state funding plays in expanding access to epilepsy care, education, case management, and community-based programming.

At FES, programs help bridge gaps in care, remove barriers to essential services, and ensure communities have access to the resources they need.

We are grateful for opportunities like PHI that bring leaders together to share experiences, exchange strategies, and strengthen the collective work.

Florida Epilepsy Services was proud to take the stage for our poster presentation at PHI, represented by Executive Director Lenore A. Brinson and Director of Operations Camille Washington!

Our presentation, “Building Seizure-Safe Communities: A Cross-Sector Partnership for Law Enforcement Seizure First Aid,” highlighted our local partnership with the Hillsborough County NAACP and our work to bring Seizure First Aid education to law enforcement.

Through partnerships like this, FES is working to build communities where first responders are better equipped to recognize seizures, respond appropriately, and help ensure safer interactions for individuals living with epilepsy.

Every training is an opportunity to build a safer, more informed community. By equipping court staff with the knowledge to recognize seizures and respond with confidence, we’re helping ensure that individuals living with epilepsy receive the care and support they deserve during critical moments.

Collaboration is what happens when organizations are intentional about serving people—not territories.

Today, Florida Epilepsy Services/Epilepsy Foundation Florida (National Chapter) is proud to partner with the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia (State Affiliate) again at the annual Coffin-Siris Syndrome Conference.

Together, we’re leading educational sessions on:
đź’ś Seizure & Epilepsy Awareness, Basics, and SUDEP
đź’ś Seizure First Aid Training

We’ll also return on Saturday to provide another Seizure First Aid Training, equipping more families, caregivers, and professionals with the knowledge and confidence to respond during a seizure.

This partnership is proof that when organizations unite around a shared mission, our impact reaches far beyond state lines. Together, we’re expanding access to education, increasing awareness, and building safer communities for people living with epilepsy.
