I used to think that exercise was about creating the body of my dreams….

A flatter stomach.Bigger muscles. A 6-pack.

But becoming a parent changed everything.

Now I train so I can pick my kids up without hesitation.I train so I can get down on the floor and play.I train so I can run, chase, carry, wrestle, explore, and make memories with them.

The goal isn’t a perfect body.

The goal is having the strength, mobility, and energy to fully show up for the people who matter most.

Because one day, my kids won’t remember how much I weighed or what I looked like.

They’ll remember if I was present.They’ll remember if I played with them.They’ll remember if I was there.

That’s why I keep showing up.

You don’t need a fancy gym or a lay of fitness equipment to heal from Back pain.

You do need a plan, and understanding of what is going on, and progressive training to take your health back.

If you get consistent flare ups with exercise, there are probably key levers (like motor control, progressive mobility, breathing, and form) that need to be met to progress beyond these set backs.

What is functional training anyways?
For me, it means training for life -

For most parents, that doesn’t mean jumping around like a grasshopper after a Starbucks venti latte.

It means being able to pick up you kids, carry the groceries, and get to and from the floor with confidence.

So add things like farmer’s carries to your gym program

For grip strength, core strength, and balance.
Simple, effective, and meaningful.
