This year, I turned 65 at the biggest birthday party a girl could ever ask for: the Erie County Fair! ❤️🤍💙
Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes. I tried to answer as many of you individually as I could, but after an incredible 12 days, there’s something even bigger I want to say:
Thank you, Western New York.
Thank you for showing up. Thank you for supporting We R Nuts NY, Inc. Thank you for supporting our employees, our fair family, our fellow concessionaires, our farmers, our 4-H kids, and this incredible community we get to call home.
Sometimes I still think about sitting at my dining room table all those years ago, trying to figure out what on earth I was going to call this little company. I had no idea where it would lead.
Today, I look at our stand at the Erie County Fair, our wonderful customers, and this crazy little "nutty" family we've built, and I am incredibly grateful.
Our team grew again this year. Hannah came back, Cameron joined us, and apparently our so-called "geriatric league" is recruiting a younger generation. 😂 And every one of them helped make these 12 days something special.
But one of my favorite parts of the Fair isn't what we sell. It's what this community gives back.
We were proud to join our fellow concessionaires in supporting the 4-H Livestock Auction, helping purchase animals these kids spent the entire year raising and caring for. Through the generosity of the Western New York community, those efforts also helped raise money for FeedMore WNY.
We R Nuts NY, Inc. was also proud to contribute to the Erie County Agricultural Society scholarship fund, helping young people continue their education in agriculture.
Because agriculture isn't just about today. It's about who is going to grow our food tomorrow.
Invest in the kids, and they will make it happen.
At 65, I can look back at a business I started from nothing and realize that its greatest success isn't measured only by what we sell. It's measured by the people we've met, the people we've employed, the community we've supported, and what we're able to give back.
Thank you to the Erie County Fair, the Erie County Agricultural Society, our incredible Fair family, our We R Nuts NY, Inc. team, and every single customer who walked through those gates and supported us.
You truly gave me the Best 12 Days of Summer and one heck of a 65th birthday. ❤️🤍💙
