The ball is in your court! Learn and play the game with a college basketball athlete, Cooper Farrall.
Cooper Farrall is a former patient of La Rabida Chicago Children’s Diabetes Center. He’s hosting a basketball camp for kids just like him who love basketball and live with type 1 diabetes.
During the camp, kids (ages 8 - 16) will hear Cooper’s story about managing diabetes on and off the court and learn proper stretching techniques and basketball drills tailored to their skill level.
“We couldn’t be more proud of Cooper,” says Dr. Anita Swamy, Medical Director of La Rabida CCDC. “He’s overcome hurdles to achieve this level of athletic success while managing type 1 diabetes.”
Cooper plays at Bentley University, led the team in scoring, and was a First-Team All-Conference selection.
“Cooper is a living example that having diabetes should never be a barrier,” says Rosemary Briars, ND, Clinical Director of La Rabida CCDC.
Event sessions are open to La Rabida patients, their siblings, and the community.
