Deaf Fall Fest is getting closer!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 7, and join us from 10 AM–2 PM at St. Rita School for the Deaf for an afternoon filled with delicious food, unique shopping, and community!

Want to compete in our 6th Annual Chili & Dessert Cook-Off? There’s still time to enter! Registration is $20 for chili or dessert, or $35 to enter both. Contest entries are due by October 28.

Planning to shop? The OINK Deaf Artisan Market will feature handmade goods from Deaf artisans, and there’s no admission fee to browse and shop.

Just coming for the food? Admission to the cook-off is $8 when purchased online in advance or $10 at the door. Come ready to sample some seriously delicious chili and desserts!

Meet Barbara.

For years, Barbara has turned to Hearing Speech + Deaf Center when life has presented challenges that would be difficult for anyone to navigate.

As a Deaf member of our community and a longtime client of our Community Services for the Deaf department, Barbara has found more than assistance at HSDC. She has found communication, confidence, advocacy and people she can trust.

From finding a new home after a devastating flood to navigating legal proceedings after a robbery, HSDC has been there to help Barbara understand her options, solve problems and move forward.

Throughout October, we’ll be sharing more of Barbara’s story as part of our Year-End Campaign and showing what your support makes possible for people who rely on HSDC.

Follow along. Her story is one of resilience, support and the power of communication.
