🤩Ya know, I’ve been thinking a lot about how important trade has been as a Massage Therapist. It really made me consider all the ways bartering is not just money, but time, skills, and the random things we have that someone else needs. That it’s something we have to rely on a little more. Even when things are affordable, the over consumption, the “new” all the time really adds to the pressure we are currently feeling.

🫶🏼Recently, Ive been trading with friends in the form of work, farm fresh eggs & more and it reminded me how good it feels when community actually functions the way it’s supposed to. No ego, no keeping score, no “I’ll Venmo you” (although there is always that offer, within what I’m able to.) Just, “Hey, I’ve got this, do you want it?”, “Hey can you drum up some xyz for xyz” and “Yeah, I can help you with that.”

🌱It made me realize how often we underestimate the value of what we already have. And sometimes the thing you receive isn’t even the thing, it’s the reminder that you’re not doing life alone.
