There is a reason the teacher-student relationship is so deeply revered in the Vedic traditions.

Traditionally, learning wasn't about collecting information from slides, downloading another course, or checking a box.

It was about relationship.

Observation.
Practice.
Questions.
Conversation.
And, over time, the development of discernment.

Before my first trip to India in 2009, I was given some very specific advice:

**Come to your lessons with questions.**

If I didn't have any questions, I should be prepared to be dismissed.

That stayed with me.

Because the deeper we go into Ayurveda, the more we realize that knowing *about* something isn't the same as knowing how to practice it.

And some things simply cannot be learned from a screen.

This is one of the reasons I offer private preceptorships through Rasayana.

My preceptorships are designed for practitioners and serious students who are ready to move beyond simply accumulating information and begin developing their **clinical judgment, hands-on skills, professional identity, and capacity to apply what they've learned.**

The work is individualized because **you** are not a generic practitioner.

If you're considering private preceptorship and want to explore whether we're a good fit, I've created a Preceptorship Interest & Intake Form as the first step.

**Come with your questions.**

I'll bring mine, too.

→ Complete the **Preceptorship Interest & Intake Form**:

💆 Massage appears in Egyptian records. In Hippocrates' treatise On Joints (5th century BCE). In Charaka's classical Ayurvedic texts (ca. 600 BCE). Across virtually every indigenous culture on earth.

Before pharmaceuticals. Before surgery. Before any system we call modern medicine, there were skilled hands.

As a manual therapist, you are not a service provider who happened to choose massage. You are the contemporary expression of a healing practice as old as human culture.

That's a meaningful place to stand. Clinically. Ethically. And in how you talk about your work.

RasaLab starts here: with the lineage. Because the techniques only land when you understand what you're actually part of.

This is one of the concepts I've been writing about for years and now I'm finally putting it in a format you can actually use.

🌿 Ayurveda doesn't just describe what to do. It describes how healing works — and it turns out there are three distinct pathways.

Most manual therapists are brilliant at one of them and don't even realize the other two are available to them.

This graphic is a preview from RasaLab, the clinical companion and membership community I'm building alongside my book, Abhyanga for Chronic Pain (Singing Dragon, November 2026).

🧡 RasaLab and the full clinical breakdown — Sanskrit, methods, and exactly how each one shows up in your treatment room — is inside the free Rasayana app. in November. 📲

Before I became a professional Ayurvedic bodyworker, the first several years of my personal Ayurveda practice was only my AM abhyanga routine.

A simple, 4 oz. blue glass bottle with a pump that I warmed up in a coffee cup and hot water from my tea kettle. Now 20 years later, that set up looks like a copper dish set over an open tea candle flame.

It was (and remains) the single, most powerful practice for me to keep my stamina and strength. It keeps my sanity too. 😆

Frameworks aren’t restrictive—they’re what make skill reliable. There’s a difference between intuition and untrained guessing. One is earned.

Not every Abhyanga should be done the exact same way. Ayurveda has a clinical context, not just a destination spa one.

Honored to be highlighted 💕🙏🏼
