When Shalom Plotkin and his wife, Elise Braverman-Plotkin, returned to Cleveland in 2014, they did so with a personal mission. As Elise's father battled Parkinson's disease, the family experienced firsthand the importance of dependable, compassionate home care. They quickly realized how much of a difference the right support could make, not only for older adults but also for the loved ones caring for them. At the same time, they discovered there was no Right at Home serving Cleveland's east side. Inspired by their family's experience and a shared calling to help others, they opened their Right at Home office and began building a team dedicated to helping seniors live safely and independently wherever they call home.
Today, Right at Home Cleveland East and Right at Home Highland Heights offices proudly serve families throughout Cleveland's east side. For Shalom, whose background includes service as a military chaplain and counselor, the most rewarding moments are often the simplest: helping a client avoid a fall, stay on track with medications, enjoy a good meal, or simply have someone to talk with. He believes what truly sets their office apart is the strength of the relationships they build. Many caregivers and team members have been with the organization for years, providing the continuity, trust, and familiarity that clients and families value. Through ongoing training, caregiver support, and a culture that celebrates the people delivering care each day, Shalom and Elise have created a team focused on making a meaningful difference, one client, one caregiver, and one day at a time.
