What's the "best" exercise?

The answer depends on your goals, your body, your abilities—and something we don't talk about nearly enough:
Do you actually enjoy it enough to keep doing it?

You can have the most scientifically perfect program in the world, but if you hate every second of it and quit after three weeks, it isn't doing much for you.
Maybe you love lifting weights.
Maybe it's Pilates.
Maybe it's hiking, dancing, swimming, golf, pickleball, gardening, walking your dog or chasing your grandchildren around the yard.

I don't care nearly as much about what gets you moving as I care that you keep moving.
Movement gives you access to your life. Find something you enjoy.

Keep doing it.

And take care of your body so you can continue doing it for as long as possible. That's what Move for What Matters™ means to me.

Forget what you're "supposed" to do. What kind of movement do you genuinely LOVE?

Most people think of movement as something they ""have to do.""

I see it differently.

Movement is something that I get to do.

Movement is an investment.

An investment in your future.

An investment in your independence.

An investment in playing with your grandchildren.

Traveling.

Working.

Laughing.

Living.

Every time you choose to move well today...

You're investing in the life you want tomorrow.

That's what FAST is really about.

Ten minutes counts. A short walk counts. Standing up from your desk counts. Stretching for a few minutes counts. Going to bed earlier counts. Drinking the water counts. You don't have to overhaul your entire life Monday morning.

Do something small enough that you'll actually do it again Tuesday.

What's ONE small thing you can do for your body today?

An injury can change your body—but it doesn't always define your future. With patience, the right guidance, and smart movement, many people return to activities they thought were gone forever.

What's one activity you'd love to get back to?

Your body whispers before it screams.

That little restriction you keep noticing.
The shoulder that doesn't move quite like the other one.
The stiffness that takes longer to disappear in the morning.
The movement you've quietly started avoiding.

Those things don't automatically mean something is wrong—but they are information. Body awareness isn't about becoming afraid of every sensation. It's about noticing changes early enough to become curious about them.

Your body communicates with you constantly.

Learn its language.

What's something your body has been trying to tell you lately?

Your body wasn't built to do one movement over and over.

Whether it's sitting at a desk, standing on a job site, or repeating the same workout every day, repetition creates adaptation.

Adding variety to how you move helps your body stay resilient.

Walk.

Reach.

Rotate.

Carry.

Squat.

Climb.

Move in different ways.

Your body will thank you for it.

What's one movement you haven't done in a while?

We tend to celebrate the work.

The workout.
The long run.
The heavy lift.
The competition.
The crazy week we somehow survived.

But what happens afterward matters too. Exercise and strenuous activity create a stimulus. Recovery is where your body gets the opportunity to respond and adapt. And recovery doesn't have to mean doing nothing.

It might mean sleep. Hydration. Nutrition. Walking. Gentle movement. Mobility work. Stretching.
Or simply giving your body a day where the goal isn't to push harder.

I would love to see more people stop treating recovery as something they earn only after they're exhausted.

Recovery is part of the work.

Be honest—do you actually schedule recovery, or do you wait until your body demands it?
