One thing that’s often overlooked in skincare is the percentage of ingredients you’re actually paying for.

A product can advertise retinol, peptides, or some exciting new skincare ingredient, but that doesn’t necessarily tell you how much of it is in the formula.

And the amount matters! Of course, more isn’t always better, and different ingredients are effective at different concentrations.

However, when we were formulating our Frownies Apple Serum, we knew we wanted a meaningful amount of the hero ingredient, Malus domestica apple stem cell extract.

In some of the formulations we explored, that ingredient was included at less than 1%.

Our Frownies Apple Serum formula contains 5%.

I’ve been using this serum consistently for over three years, and I absolutely love it, especially around my eyes.

When I run out or stop using it for a while, I can tell a difference in how my skin looks and feels. I genuinely credit this serum as one of the things that has helped keep my under-eyes looking smooth and hydrated as I’ve gotten older.

Retinol has plenty of research behind it, but if you have more sensitive skin and you’re looking for something different, this is the ingredient I personally keep coming back to.

I swear by it, and I don’t see it leaving my skincare routine anytime soon.

Just a reminder that so many of the things you can do for great skin have nothing to do with the skincare products you put on your face.

I love good skincare, but I also think we underestimate how much our daily habits affect the way our skin looks and feels.

Take facial massage, for example. Massage helps increase blood flow to the skin, bringing oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. Fibroblasts are the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin, and healthy circulation helps support the environment those cells need to function.

Facial massage can also help move excess fluid, temporarily reduce puffiness, and release some of the tension we hold in our forehead, jaw, and around our eyes.

Does that mean facial massage alone is going to build collagen or erase your wrinkles? No. But it’s one of those simple things you can do at home that can make a difference in how your face looks and feels.

And it’s FREE.
