The first two U.S. measles deaths of 2026 were confirmed today, in Pennsylvania. Both people were unvaccinated. This follows three deaths in 2025, which were the first measles deaths in a decade. As vaccination rates decrease, outbreaks will continue to cause unnecessary illness and deaths across the U.S. Vaccination is the best way to protect your family and others and put an end to outbreaks.
