You don’t need the perfect words to check on someone. “Hey, I’ve been thinking about you.” “Want some company?” “How are you, really?” A text, a call, or sitting together for a while can remind someone they don’t have to carry a hard moment alone. This National Su***de Prevention Week, reach out. And if someone tells you they’re struggling, listen and help them connect with support. If you or someone you know needs immediate crisis support, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline 24/7. If there is immediate danger, call 911.

The ride home after the game doesn’t always need a recap. Sometimes your kid already knows about the missed shot, the bad pass, or the time they spent on the bench. What they may need more is a reminder that none of it changes who they are. Their worth isn’t measured in goals, points, playing time, wins, or losses. And when sports start feeling like more pressure than joy, it’s okay to check in on what’s going on beyond the game.

A day off doesn’t need a to-do list. You don’t have to clean the whole house, catch up on every errand, answer those emails, and somehow become a new person by Tuesday. Rest can look like sleeping in. Sitting outside. Watching something you’ve already seen five times. Doing absolutely nothing useful for a while. If you have time to slow down this Labor Day, you’re allowed to actually use it that way. Rest doesn’t need to be earned first.

Take the rest if you can.

Your schedule is already full. Therapy shouldn’t require rearranging your entire life to make it work. The time, format, therapist fit, and how comfortable you feel all matter. Because support is a lot easier to keep showing up for when it actually works with your life. Finding what works for you might take some adjusting. That’s okay. Therapy is supposed to support your life, not become another thing making it harder.

The car ride home can shape how young athletes remember their season. When kids hear they're valued for their effort, growth, and love of the game-not just the scoreboard-they're more likely to build confidence and enjoy playing. A few simple words can go a long way.

Our team had a wonderful time at Little River Flower Farm in Buxton, Maine on Saturday for our quarterly group outing. 🌸

We got to learn about the farm, explore the greenhouses, see some cute chickens, try some delicious blueberry lavender lemonade, and arrange our very own bouquets! 💐

Thank you to Nancy for being such a great host and for providing us with such beautiful organic flowers.
