In my opinion, Lymphedema and Lipedema are cousins

Lymphedema can happen months or even years after surgery and radiation.

Heaviness, tightness, swelling, cording, pain, and fatigue are all signs people often ignore. Early care matters.

Wear your compression, protect your arm, keep up with your lymphatic massages, and listen to your body.

There’s NO ICD-10 code in the US for YET but we are waiting on to make a decision after FOUR meetings where the codes were presented by as soon as they’re announced the will let all the patients know to update their charts and ask their providers to include typing and staging codes. Fingers crossed!!!

🟣 BREAKING: AETNA SETTLES LIPEDEMA LAWSUIT ⚖️

After years of denying coverage for life-changing liposuction surgery by calling it "cosmetic," yesterday Aetna agreed to settle a federal class action lawsuit brought by a patient with Stage 3 lipedema.

This is a BIG win for our community. 🙌

💥 The case challenged Aetna’s blanket denials of surgery for lipedema.
💥 A federal judge had certified a class of patients affected.
💥 Now, Aetna must settle — and that could mean reprocessing old claims and notifying patients of their rights.

This isn’t just a legal victory — it’s validation. Ledema is real. The pain is real. And so is the fight for treatment.
