Linking objects provide anyone grieving with an object to aid in the processing of emotions. Something to hold on to, when you can't hold on to your best friend. Reminding us of the bond we shared and the lifetime of memories we created. Keeping a pets collar or their favorite toy are all examples of linking objects. Seeing a pet's paw print, the nooks and crannies their paws held, or the imprint of their fur, or maybe even a speck of dirt, are all ways we can be reminded of the best days we spent together.
