Accelacare Physical Therapy

Accelacare Physical Therapy Accelacare Physical Therapy is Garden City's Premier Provider of Outpatient Physical Therapy Have you heard that we offer a In house payment treatment plan.

Accelacare Physical Therapy is a privately owned physical therapy practice founded in 2007. We specialize in musculoskeletal disorders and offer a hands-on approach for treatment to correct bio-mechanical faults in joint mobility, muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility. Our clinicians have advanced training in orthopaedic manual therapy for the assessment and treatment of acute and chronic

problems. This advanced training allows for the cause of our patients' dysfunctions to be more easily identified and to be corrected with education, exercise and manual therapy techniques. We pride ourselves on being movement experts that identify and correct the original cause of our patients' problems so that surgery, injections and long-term medication use can be avoided if possible. Accelacare Physical Therapy received the 2010 Kansas Small Business Development Center Emerging Business of the Year Award for Southwest Kansas. DID YOU KNOW: A doctor’s referral is no longer required to be treated by a physical therapist. We do Provide a Spanish Interpreter for your needs.*******

If simple remedies such as rest, medication or spinal adjustments have not alleviated your aches and pain, maybe there’s something more complicated going on. The cause of many aches and pains are often due to muscle imbalances that develop from poor posture or repetitive movements that are present in our everyday routines. Pain that is due to muscle imbalances usually requires specific retraining and often doesn’t respond as well to simple remedies that don’t address the cause of the problem. Let the movement experts at Accelacare Physical therapy determine the cause of your problem and help you find a long-term solution to your pain.

Please welcome Dirk Nebbeling, PT to Accelacare!! Dirk comes to us all the way from Dodge City, KS and brings an exceptional skillset and a strong passion for connecting with his patients and helping them get better.

Hi, I’m Dirk Nebbeling, a licensed Physical Therapist with more than 20 years of clinical experience helping patients recover from injury, surgery, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Originally from the Netherlands, I have lived in the United States since 1996 and will bring a diverse cultural perspective to patient care. I am fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing me to effectively communicate with and serve a broad range of patients within the community.

My areas of interest are orthopedic rehabilitation with particular interests in joint replacement recovery, shoulder rehabilitation, spinal conditions, and the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. I am committed to providing individualized, evidence-based treatment programs that help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, restore function, and return to the activities they enjoy. I am also pursuing completing training in dry needling to further expand the treatment options available to my patients.
Throughout my career, I have developed a reputation for building strong therapeutic relationships and empowering patients through education, hands-on care, and functional rehabilitation. I believe that successful outcomes are achieved through a collaborative approach that combines clinical expertise, patient commitment, and personalized care.

Outside the clinic, I enjoy staying active through sports, with a particular passion for soccer. I also values spending time with family, reading, and continually studying to stay current with the latest developments in physical therapy and rehabilitation. I am active with my wife in our church community in Dodge City KS, and enjoy serving where we can.

Please welcome Zach Kennell, our latest student from Wichita State University! Zach brings to us a passion for learning and a keen mind for helping his patients succeed. If you see him around the community, be sure to give him a warm welcome!

Hi everyone, my name is Zach Kennell, and I'm from Newton, KS. I am in my second year of the Wichita State University Doctor of Physical Therapy program and am excited to start my first rotation in Garden City. I will be here for eight weeks.

Physical therapy drew me in because of its ability to positively impact both patients' physical and emotional well-being. Everyone can benefit from physical activity, no matter their ability level, and I am excited for the opportunity to help patients improve their health and function through movement. I appreciate the hands-on nature of physical therapy and am looking forward to getting to know the patients I am serving.

Before physical therapy school, I graduated from Bethel College with degrees in biology and business administration and worked as a backpacking guide in Colorado. I also work in the wellness center at a nursing home in my hometown and have enjoyed connecting with the residents there.

When I'm not focusing on school, I enjoy being active. I lift weights, play ultimate frisbee, and snowboard. When I want something slower-paced, I like reading and watching sports.

Thank you for the opportunity to assist in your care. I am excited to expand my knowledge of the field of physical therapy.

🥳👏Please welcome our newest student Alexis Carreon! 👏🥳

She is coming from us from University of Colorado, spending 8 weeks with at Accelacare for her first clinical rotation. 🩺

Here is a little about Alexis. ⬇️

Hello, my name is Alexis Carreon, I’m originally from Tucson, AZ ☀️ and have been living in Denver, CO as a student through University of Colorado’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program! Accelacare is the site for my first clinical rotation and I will be here for 8 weeks. I am so excited to get to know the community and learn from the team!

I entered my program with interests in neurodevelopmental pediatrics, caring for caregivers, community wellness, and trauma-informed care. While those are specific callings with personal drivers for each, movement is more than our bones, nerves and muscles; overall, I want to empower people to work towards their goals and collaborate to find their individual version of feeling well. How the body sustains movement, the stresses of exercise, disuse or life itself is fascinating to me. How what we are born into, our experiences and the way we view the world impacts the body is also fascinating to me. Passion and curiosity fuel me to be a sponge and learn about all the amazing topics that PT encompasses, whether that’s clinical care, outreach, research, or connection.

Before this winter, I had never seen snowfall, ❄️ and I am delighted to have finally experienced the seasons! Back in AZ, I worked as a tech in two different PT settings, I worked at a non-profit supporting families experiencing trauma, loss or hospitalization; I was a Child Life volunteer in the PICU and regularly volunteered with children’s adaptive recreation. During this time, I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in Physiology and Medical Sciences, with an emphasis in Exercise and Extreme Physiology and minors in Disability Studies and Sports Nutrition. Most of my free time is spent running, lifting, hiking, going to cafes or live music events, crocheting, and anything between the range of active to creative (I'm a hobby collector).

Thank you for taking me in and I am so excited to learn more!
