🍂 THRIVE THURSDAY | Support Your Body Through Seasonal Change
As summer begins to fade and fall settles in, nature starts to slow down — and our bodies feel that shift too.
Seasonal transitions are a great time to get back to the basics and give your body a little extra support.
* Focus on your lymphatic system
Keep things moving with daily walking, stretching, dry brushing, hydration, deep breathing and sweating. Your lymphatic system relies on movement!
* Prioritize hydration + minerals
Cooler weather can make us less aware of thirst. Continue drinking plenty of water and include mineral-rich whole foods to support hydration and cellular function.
* Eat with the season
Begin transitioning toward warming, nutrient-dense foods — root vegetables, squash, apples, leafy greens, soups, stews, herbs and spices.
* Don’t forget vitamin D
As daylight decreases, getting outside becomes even more important. Spend time in natural light whenever possible and talk with your healthcare provider about whether checking your vitamin D level makes sense for you.
* Support your gut
A diverse, whole-food diet rich in fiber and fermented foods can help support a healthy gut microbiome — an important part of normal immune function.
* Honor your sleep
Earlier sunsets are a natural cue to slow down. Protect your evening routine, reduce late-night screen time and give your body the restorative sleep it needs.
* Manage the seasonal stress shift
New schedules, school, work and shorter days can change our rhythms. Make room for walking, breathing, prayer, meditation, journaling or simply being outside.
The goal isn’t to “boost” your body — it’s to support the systems that already know how to take care of you.
Nature changes with the seasons. We can too. 🍁
At Aquila Wellness, we focus on supporting the body as a whole — creating an environment where it has the resources it needs to function, restore and thrive.
