🌈 Happy Pride Month 🌈

This month, I want to take a moment to recognize and thank the parents who chose love when their child trusted them with one of the most vulnerable conversations of their life.

Thank you to the parents who listened before judging.
Thank you to the parents who hugged before questioning.
Thank you to the parents who chose connection over fear, and relationship over rejection.

Your support matters more than you may ever know.

Research consistently shows that LGBTQ+ youth who experience family rejection face significantly higher rates of depression, anxiety, homelessness, and su***de risk. Nearly 28% of LGBTQ+ youth report experiencing homelessness or housing instability, and many report being kicked out, abandoned, or running away due to family rejection. Youth who experience housing instability are two to four times more likely to struggle with serious mental health concerns and su***de risk.

To the parents who may one day hear the words, "Mom, Dad, there's something I need to tell you..."

I hope you choose love.
I hope you choose grace.
I hope you remember that your child's courage to share their truth is not a rejection of you, it is an invitation to know them more deeply.

Your child does not need perfection.
They need safety.
They need belonging.
They need to know that home is still home.

The evidence is clear: accepting families and affirming communities dramatically reduce su***de risk among LGBTQ+ youth. In accepting environments, young people attempt su***de at less than one-third the rate of those in unaccepting communities.

This Pride Month, may we build families where no child has to choose between being loved and being themselves.

✨ Anxiety Check-In ✨

Anxiety has a way of convincing us that everything needs our attention right now.

The unanswered text.
The unfinished task.
The conversation from yesterday.
The worry about tomorrow.

But not everything is urgent.

If your mind feels crowded today, give yourself permission to pause for a moment.

Notice your feet on the floor.
Relax your shoulders.
Unclench your jaw.
Take one slow breath in.
And one slow breath out.

You don't have to solve every problem in this moment.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is slow down long enough to remind your nervous system that you are safe, present, and capable of handling one thing at a time.

Your anxiety may be loud today, but it doesn't get the final say.

💙 Be gentle with yourself.
💙 Focus on what's in front of you.
💙 One breath. One moment. One step at a time.

🌈 Love, Growth, and 15 Years of "Who Left the Cabinets Open?" 🥂
​Happy Pride Month from Courageous Journeys Healing Center! 🎉
​If you’ve been around here for a while, you know that this center is all about honoring your authentic path, embracing your story, and healing in a space where you are fully seen. Today, I wanted to step out from behind the therapist's chair and share a little piece of my own story and why Pride holds such a special place in my heart.

​For those who might not know, I’m Camille a proud, married le***an. 🌈
​This year, my beautiful wife and I are celebrating 19 years together and 15 years of marriage this coming November. (Cue the champagne! 🥂)
​Nineteen years is a beautiful milestone. It’s nearly two decades of building a life, supporting each other's wildest dreams, and navigating the profound, everyday work of choosing love. It’s also nearly two decades of a classic, ongoing, loving debate: exactly how many decorative pillows are too many pillows? (The jury is still out, but I think I’m winning). 🤭

​Jokes aside, my marriage and my identity are foundational to who I am and how I show up for this community. Love is a journey. Healing is a journey. Finding the courage to live out loud and celebrate exactly who you are is some of the most sacred work you will ever do.
​Whether you are celebrating loudly this month, quietly exploring your own truth, or standing tall as a fierce ally please know this: You belong here. Your journey is valid, your love is worthy, and you are always welcome at Courageous Journeys.

Let's take a moment to focus on masc-centered women and Trans men in way that society often overlooks. The ones who move through the world with strength on their shoulders.
You’re the protector. The steady one.
The one people assume doesn’t need anything. You handle it. You hold it.
You push through it.
But who makes space for you?
Who lets you be tired… without questioning your strength?
Who lets you soften… without stripping your identity?
You deserve a space where your masculinity is respected
not analyzed.
Where your vulnerability is welcomed not weaponized.

At Courageous Journeys Healing Center, you don’t have to shrink.
You don’t have to explain yourself.
