Third time is the charm! We couldn't be more proud of our Physical Therapist, Alyssa Rodriguez, on crushing the Leadville 100 this past August.

This achievement is a testament to Alyssa's determination, dedication, and hard work whether on the race course or in the PT clinic. Way to go Alyssa!

Behind every gold award is a person who refused to settle for anything less.

That person is Chris Evans, GVH's Clinical Resource Nurse and Stroke Coordinator, and the driving force behind GVH earning the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines Rural Stroke Gold Award for the second year in a row.

While the national average for clot-busting medication within 60 minutes sits at 69.8%, GVH is at 100%. For brain imaging within 25 minutes, the national average is 73.7% — GVH hits 85.7%.

In stroke care, those numbers represent real people receiving faster, more effective treatment when every second counts. Thank you to Chris and the entire team for making world-class stroke care a reality right here in the Gunnison Valley.

This past Thursday, the residents of GVH's Senior Care Center and Assisted Living community opened their doors for the Awesome Artist Art Show and Sale.

Every piece on display was a window into the creativity, life experience, and extraordinary spirit of the residents who created them.

Last Wednesday our GVH team celebrated at the I-Bar Ranch for our ICare at IBar employee appreciation night. It was an evening well deserved for our staff. Burnell's Food Truck kept everyone fed, the Eli Emmett Band kept everyone moving, and our team reminded us why we love showing up every single day.

Our Family Medicine Clinic team showed up in a big way this summer and saw over 200 student athletes during the annual Sports Physical Walk-In Fridays.

A huge shout out to every provider and staff member at GVH's Family Medicine Clinic who made Sports Physical Fridays such a tremendous success. Thanks to their dedication, hundreds of young athletes across the Gunnison Valley are cleared, ready, and raring to go for fall sports season.

Thanks to a donor-funded rebrand initiative, GVH has the unique opportunity for an artist to help redesign the GVH logo. Local artists are encouraged to apply!

In rural healthcare, opportunities like this are rare: GVH typically reserves capital funding for equipment and projects that help keep care local.

But when a donor who is passionate about marketing wants to invest specifically in elevating our brand and signage, and with support of the Gunnison Valley Health Foundation, it gives us an opportunity to strengthen GVH’s presence cohesively across the valley.

Update: Just after 9 AM Sunday, Alyssa finished the Leadville Race Series 100 mile run and is an official finisher!

We want to introduce you to Alyssa Rodriguez, a physical therapist on GVH's Rehabilitation team and someone who defines what it means to do hard things.

This Saturday, Alyssa will be running in the Leadville 100. She made it 40 miles in her first attempt and 60 in her second. Each time, she came back stronger, more prepared, and more determined.

What makes Alyssa's story especially meaningful to us at GVH is how she brings everything she learns on the trail into her work with patients. The patience, the resilience, the understanding that recovery takes time and effort. We are incredibly proud to have her on our team.

GVH is honored to support Project Hope of Gunnison Valley today and every day.

Today’s Project Hope “Stand With Me” luncheon brought our community together to raise awareness about domestic violence and the importance of support, advocacy, and resources for those impacted.

At GVH, our Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program provides compassionate, trauma informed care to individuals who have experienced sexual assault. Our specially trained nurses are committed to ensuring patients receive respectful, confidential care and the support they need during an incredibly difficult time.

Our nurses, and whole team, are proud to stand alongside Project Hope and our community in supporting survivors and helping build a safer future for all.
