Some of our amazing volunteers at our appreciation event yesterday 🦋

The wonderful Sandy Agustin led us in a nature mandala-making workshop, also known as Morning Altars. This was followed by our monthly Music & Memorial gathering, where we come together to speak the names of those who have died, share memories, and offer music and poetry in remembrance.

Keep up with our upcoming events by visiting our website — or better yet, sign up for our newsletter! 💫

Water holds so many of life’s thresholds.

From the waters of birth, to rituals of blessing, to the gentle act of bathing the body after death - cultures across the world have long recognized water as a companion to life’s passages.

What bodies of water have held meaning in your life?

We invite you to take a moment to reflect on the waters that have accompanied your own journey 💧 🌀 💧

Introducing... Wednesday Wants! (yes, we're launching on a Thursday 🙃)

Each week, we'll share a short wishlist of simple items that support the beauty, warmth, and functionality of life at The Bardo. We’re so grateful for the kindness and generosity of our community - it truly sustains what happens here.

We also have a regularly updated Amazon Wishlist that allows for folks to donate items and have them sent directly to us, which can be found here:

Thank you for helping tend the space with us. We are so grateful.

Where to start? Let’s start by celebrating our *OPENING* and our state license! We are the first model of our kind in MN— and hope to help create more! We have worked tirelessly the last year and spent a good portion of winter keeping our head down and staying focused.

Over the last month we hired and trained an incredible team. is photographed above with one of our guests (she is our resident death doula and volunteer coordinator) along with another team member who provides comfort bedside and brings his guitar for the down time.

I couldn’t be more honored and humbled to open our doors at the Bardo and usher in a new way of being with dying.

Thank you for who have followed this journey / and thank you for those who put their trust in us to care for their loved ones at the end of their life. And thank you and Deb for your unwavering support. ♥️

Here’s to a new way. 🥂

“I navigated a very specific parallelogram in our state finding the pieces of fabric that make up Minnesota’s geology finding these. They come everywhere with me. They are my lifeline”. At 65, this man sits waiting for his last breath as he suffers from multiple myeloma. In the hospital, he pours over his stone collection with complete admiration. Sometimes we find strength in the mundane and sometimes others show us how to be a rock.
